Velocity Frequent Flyer Launches Double Status Credit Promotion

Velocity Frequent Flyer program, the loyalty scheme for Virgin Australia, has launched a new promotion designed to fast-track your frequent flyer status to new heights. The initiative allows members to earn double status credits when they book and complete an eligible flight with Virgin Australia before the end of the year.

The double status credit promotion booking period runs between 25 July and 3 August 2023. To qualify for the promotion, Velocity members must first activate the offer via the activation link or through the member dashboard at velocityfrequentflyer.com during the promotion period.

Once activated, members must book and ticket an eligible flight during the same period and enter a valid Velocity membership number at the time of booking. Eligible flights include any domestic, Trans-Tasman, or international short-haul flight marketed and operated by Virgin Australia for travel between 25 July 2023 and 31 December 2023. Please note that the flight must normally earn status credits to qualify.

However, the promotion does not apply to flights booked through partner airlines’ codeshare services. Changes made to existing bookings prior to the promotion period are not eligible for this offer. Additionally, Velocity Reward Seat bookings and upgrades that did not involve a full commercial fare do not attract bonus status credits.

Members who satisfy the criteria will earn an impressive 100% bonus Status Credits. Importantly, there is no limit on the number of times this offer can be redeemed.

The bonus Status Credits will be applied to the fare class originally purchased, and members should allow up to four weeks for the bonus Status Credits to be allocated.

Velocity Frequent Flyer Program Tiers and Status Points Requirement

The Velocity Frequent Flyer program has various status tiers, each providing distinct benefits to members.

• Red Status: This is the entry-level tier that you automatically join upon enrollment in the Velocity program. There are no status points required for this level.
• Silver Status: To achieve this tier, you will need to earn 250 status credits and take at least two eligible flights within a membership year.
• Gold Status: Attaining the Gold status requires 500 status credits and at least four eligible flights within a membership year.
• Platinum Status: This top tier demands 1,000 status credits and at least eight eligible flights within a membership year.

This double-status credit promotion provides a fantastic opportunity for members to climb these status tiers faster, unlocking even more travel perks and benefits.
