Aeroplan Black Friday Offer: Up To 125% Bonus

Aeroplan is currently running a Black Friday promotion for their miles, offering a substantial bonus of at least 100% on points purchased.

Until 11:59 pm on November 29, 2023, Aeroplan members have the opportunity to receive a minimum bonus of 100% when purchasing points. This means that for every point bought, an equal number is added as a bonus.

Under normal circumstances, Aeroplan values its points at 3.5 cents each (CAD). However, this promotion introduces a mystery bonus, guaranteeing at least double the points for the maximum purchase. We’ve seen some reader reports of a 125% bonus for those who purchased points during the last sale.

Here’s how the bonus tiers work

Buy 5,000–55,000 points and get a 50% bonus
Buy 60,000–90,000 points and get an 85% bonus
Buy 100,000 or more points and get a 100% bonus

With this 100% bonus, the cost per point effectively drops to 1.75 cents (CAD).

When it comes to the purchase limits, Aeroplan allows each member to buy up to 1,000,000 points annually, a notably high cap compared to other loyalty programs.

For gifting, which means buying points for another member, the limit is set at 500,000 points per year. Typically, the transaction limit for base points is 250,000, but this has been increased to 500,000 points for the current promotion.

While the cost of acquiring points might seem high, they can be quite valuable for securing discounted long-haul business or first-class flights.

Is there value to be had? Absolutely! To give you an example, I recently booked 2 Singapore Airlines business class flights for 110,000 Aeroplan miles each for a trip from Brussels to Perth. A total of 220,000 Aeroplan which would cost you AU$4376 under the current promotion, aver steep discount on an otherwise expensive business class flight!
