Qantas American Express Ultimate Credit Card Overview
Unlock up to 120,000 Qantas Points, lounge passes, and $450 travel credit with the Amex Qantas Ultimate!
The Qantas American Express Ultimate Card is, as the name suggests, the ultimate Qantas Points-earning credit card! Right now, the Qantas Amex Ultimate comes with up to 120,000 bonus Qantas Points.
That's 70,000 bonus Qantas Points when you apply online by 17 November 2026, are approved, and spend $5,000 on eligible purchases on your new Qantas American Express Ultimate Card within the first 3 months of your approval date. Plus, earn an additional 50,000 bonus Qantas Points when you spend a further $5,000 on eligible purchases within the first 3 months of your second year of Card Membership. T&Cs apply. New Amex Card Members only.
The Qantas American Express Ultimate Card can send your points balance skyrocketing, with an extremely competitive earn rate of 1.25 Qantas Points per dollar spent on everyday purchases. You will also receive 1 additional Qantas Point per dollar spent on Qantas products and services in Australia. This means you could be earning up to 2.25 Qantas Points per dollar!
The Qantas Amex Ultimate also comes with 2 complimentary Qantas Club lounge invitations after your first eligible Qantas spend, and a $450 Qantas Travel Credit each year you hold the Card.
Of course, these benefits do come at a cost, with an annual fee set at $450. That said, the annual fee is brought down to well below zero once you factor in the value of 120,000 Qantas Points, $450 Qantas Travel Credit and complimentary airport lounge passes.

Where Can 120,000 Qantas Points Take Me?
The signup bonus can unlock anything from a quick domestic getaway to a premium international experience. Here are three standout ways to use the current 120,000 bonus Qantas Points that come with the Qantas American Express Ultimate Card.
1. Emirates First Class Across The Tasman
Did you know Emirates operates flights between Sydney and Christchurch, New Zealand? Best of all, a First Class ticket costs just 78,400 Qantas Points + taxes.
This is a fun way to experience Emirates’ most premium cabin (and even an onboard shower) on a shorter 3-hour 40-minute flight, with full-service dining, spacious seating, and lounge access included.
2. JAL Business Class To Japan
You would need 108,000 Qantas Points + taxes to enjoy Japan Airlines Business Class from Sydney or Melbourne to Tokyo. During peak times, flights operate up to daily on either route.
3. Five Person Return Gold Coast Getaway
A practical option for a family trip or travelling with friends. Use your points for five return Jetstar Economy tickets from Melbourne to the Gold Coast. You'll need a total of 110,000 Qantas Points + taxes. That's 11,000 Qantas Points per person.

Card Fees & Details
With the Qantas American Express Ultimate Card, there is no cap on the number of Qantas Points you can earn. Qantas Points are automatically transferred to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account each month.
$450 Annual Travel Credit
You will enjoy a $450 Qantas Travel Credit each year you hold the Qantas American Express Ultimate Card.
It’s worth noting that the Travel Credit must be redeemed through the Amex Travel portal and applies only to eligible Qantas flights, which may limit flexibility. That said, the annual fee is also set at $450, meaning the Travel Credit can effectively offset the cost of holding the card, provided you use it each year.

Travel Insurance Coverage
The Qantas American Express Ultimate Card offers a range of complimentary travel insurance cover, designed to offer peace of mind against common travel risks. While you will need to meet certain eligibility criteria to activate Amex travel insurance, it's a premium inclusion that could reduce the need to purchase separate insurance, and therefore reduce out-of-pocket costs.
World Class Service & Protection
This card doesn’t just look after things when you travel. There are also numerous features that make shopping and managing your account trouble-free.

Eligibility Criteria
Card Members who currently hold or who have previously held any Card product issued by American Express in the preceding 18-month period are ineligible for the special welcome bonus of 120,000 Qantas Points.
The only exception to this rule applies to Card Members with an American Express Corporate Card. If you’ve held or currently hold one, you can still apply for a personal or business Amex card and receive the bonus, as long as all other eligibility criteria are met.
