Emirates has introduced its refurbished four-class A380 on the Dubai to Perth route, adding Premium Economy to Western Australia for the first time. The aircraft began operating EK420 and EK421 from 26 October 2025, making Perth the fourth Australian city to receive the upgraded A380.

Premium Economy Now Available In Perth

Premium Economy is located at the front of the main deck with 56 seats in a 2-4-2 layout. The cabin uses light leather upholstery, wood accents and a more subdued colour palette that aligns with the airline’s latest design direction.

Seats are 19.5 inches wide with up to 40 inches of pitch, a deep recline, six-way adjustable headrests, footrests and calf support. Each seat includes a 13.3-inch screen, USB and AC charging, Bluetooth audio support and a small cocktail table on the side.

Passengers receive blankets, pillows and an amenity kit, along with a checked baggage allowance of 35kg.

Updated Cabins Across All Classes

The rollout also brings the latest version of Emirates’ A380 cabins to Perth.

Business Class features a 1-2-1 layout with direct aisle access. The new seat converts to a fully flat bed up to 78.6 inches long and includes a 23-inch screen. Business Class passengers also have access to the A380 Onboard Lounge.

First Class keeps the enclosed suite but adds updated dining presentation, including a revised menu format and new tableware. The large 32-inch screen, shower spa access and private wardrobe all remain.

Economy Class receives revised trim, updated seat materials and a 13.3-inch screen. The cabin uses lighter colours and higher ceilings, giving it a more open feel.

Across the aircraft, passengers can access Emirates’ high-speed Wi-Fi options and the full ice entertainment system.

Strong Demand From Western Australia

Perth continues to record strong international traffic growth. Perth Airport reported its highest-ever October for international passengers, with numbers up 14.5% compared to the previous year. The introduction of the A380 with Premium Economy aligns with this growth and provides additional capacity across all cabins.

The route feeds into Emirates’ wider European network through Dubai, with connections to more than 40 cities including London, Paris and Frankfurt.

Part Of A Broader Australian Expansion

The Perth upgrade sits within Emirates’ Australian network of 70 weekly return flights across Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. The airline continues to invest commercially in the local market through sports and arts partnerships.

Later this year, Emirates will also introduce its first long-range A350, with Adelaide receiving the aircraft from 1 December 2025.
