Fly Swiss & Lufthansa First Class for $3930 Return
Fly Swiss and Lufthansa First Class return for $3,930—luxury meets value on select routes! If there are two first-class products I’ve always wanted to try, it’s by far Lufthansa & Swiss Airways First class. Sure they might not have crazy fully enclosed suites like Emirates or room for a double bed in the sky like I experienced on Singapore Airlines, but the soft product and service is what’s probably the most appealing part of both airlines.
One forum section I check daily is the Flyer Talk Premium Fares; it’s where you will find some fantastic deals on business and first class. (Hat tip for this deal: toppi5000)
Right now, you can book Lufthansa or Swiss (or both) from KBP (Kiev) in Ukraine via ZRH (Zurich) or FRA (Frankfurt) to either HKG (Hong Kong), SIN (Singapore), PEK (Beijing) or BKK (Bangkok) for around $3930 return. The fare also works from ODS (Odesa) and DME in Moscow.
If first class isn’t your thing, you can also get a rather good deal in business class for around AU$1790 return.
While it’s still a lot of money, considering this ticket usually goes for anything between $9,000 and $15,000, it’s a great deal especially for avgeeks looking to experience 2 excellent first class products.
What to expect?
Positioning to Kiev in Ukraine is rather easy and cheap from most European cities.
The country has just elected comedian Volodymyr Zelensky as their president, so maybe these fares are a way for them to celebrate
The crucial part of this experiences is without a doubt the Swiss first class lounge and the Lufthansa first class lounge. Both are considered some of the best first class lounges in the world.
Getting to the lounge is done in style; expect to be picked up from your business class KBP flight in a black limo and driven to the lounge where you can enjoy a la carte dining, a bar stocked with premium booze and in Zurich, the coveted observation deck and outside lounge. If your stopover in Zurich is a bit too long, you can take a nap in one of the hotel style rooms available to lounge guests with views over the runway.
In Frankfurt, you will be driven to and from the plane in a Porsche (just because) and enjoy the world-renowned Lufthansa first class lounge before your flight.
Earning Miles/Points
Since this is a business/first class flight expect to earn a lot of points!
Personally, I will be crediting my miles to Aegean Airlines Miles & Bonus since they offer excellent pricing on business & first class redemptions in the Star Alliance network.

How to book
Availability is outstanding, I booked seats in August, and there were plenty of dates available. I would recommend researching via Google Flights and make the booking via Expedia or American Express Travel. I opted for Amex travel because they could get me the same price and the benefit of booking via them is that you do not pay any credit card surcharges. When booking through Expedia, don’t forget to run your transaction through either ShopBack (earn a $10 bonus) or Cashrewards (earn $5 bonus) to get a % of the ticket value back in cash. If you’re not already signed up to either website, consider using my link, and we will both get a $5-$10 credit.
