Marriott Bonvoy offers a special Annual Choice Benefit to those members who earn 50 or 75 elite qualifying nights during a calendar year. If you have reached this milestone, there are a range of valuable perks to choose from, including suite upgrade credits, free hotel nights, and bonus elite qualifying nights.
The deadline is fast approaching to select your Marriott Bonvoy Annual Choice Benefit if you qualified in 2024. These perks are open for selection until 1 February 2025 Eastern Time, which is 3:59 pm AEDT on 2 February 2025.

How To Select Your Marriott Annual Choice Benefit
Selecting your Marriott Annual Choice Benefit is a straightforward process from the dedicated Annual Choice Benefit page. You will be prompted to sign in to your Marriott Bonvoy account, and then choose from a list of benefits depending on which you have qualified for.
If you miss the 1 February deadline, Marriott will select the five Nightly Upgrade Awards as a default. There is no way to reverse any benefit selection you make, or indeed the default after missing the cutoff.
Marriott Annual Choice Benefit Options
After earning at least 50 elite qualifying nights in a calendar year, you will have the option of these Choice Benefits;
- 5 Nightly Upgrade Awards for upgrades to selected premium rooms or standard suites
- 5 extra elite qualifying nights to get you closer to the next status tier
- Gift Marriott Silver Elite Status to a family member or friend
- US$1000 off a hotel bed through Marriott Bonvoy retail brands
- US$100 charity donation to the UN Children’s Fund, World Wildlife Fund or Arne M. Sorenson Hospitality Fund
Upon earning at least 75 elite qualifying nights in a calendar year, you’ll gain the option of two further perks;
- One Free Night Award valued at up to 40,000 Bonvoy Points
- Gift Marriott Gold Elite Status to a family member or friend

Which Marriott Annual Choice Benefit Should I Pick?
Value is of course subjective, but quite quickly we can rule out the charity donation, bed discount and Silver Status. The donation is a small amount in terms of the cost of fifty hotel nights, there are many better bed offers out there, and Silver Status offers few meaningful benefits.
The five elite night credits could be a smart move if you fell five or fewer nights short of earning Titanium Elite or lifetime status during the 2024 calendar year, as they will post to 2024 even if selected in 2025.
That leaves the five Nightly Upgrade Awards, which are arguably the most enticing Annual Choice Benefit. These allow for a high-priority upgrade request across a total of five nights, valid for stays until 31 December 2025. Weather you use all five for a five-night stay, or spread them across multiple shorter stays is up to you.
After booking, you can apply Nightly Upgrade Awards to a select suite that the hotel makes available for Nightly Upgrade Awards. From five days prior to check-in, the system will begin checking space for your suite, and hopefully, approve the upgrade.
For those who achieved 75 elite qualifying nights, the Free Night Award is a clear winner. This certificate can be used to book a one-night stay up to the value of 40,000 Bonvoy Points.
