30% Off Velocity Reward Seat Redemptions
Right now you can score a huge 30% off all Velocity Reward Seat Redemptions for flights booked until 13 April 2022 for travel from 1 May 2022 to 1 March 2023. Save on all domestic and international flights operated by Virgin Australia, including flights operated by Link Airways and Alliance Airlines on Virgin’s behalf.
The sale excludes Reward Seat bookings made with Velocity Frequent Flyer’s Partner Airlines and does not discount the taxes, fees and carrier surcharges. Below, find some examples of how many points you can save.
Economy Class Redemptions:
- Sydney to Melbourne – 5,400 Points (normally 7,800)
- Hobart to Melbourne – 5,400 Points (normally 7,800)
- Melbourne to Brisbane – 8,200 Points (normally 11,800)

While Virgin continues to waive change fees on bookings with a travel dates on or before 30 April 2022, there will be a redemption increase if you decide to change your flights outside of the sale period. In this case, a full refund will be processed followed by a reissue of the ticket on the regular Reward Seat pricing. For example, if you book Perth to Sydney for 24,800 Velocity Points in Business during the sale, and then make a change, you will be charged the full 35,500 Velocity Points on the new booking.
Note that if your travel date is on or after 1 May 2022 a Reward Seat Amendment Fee of $35 or 4,500 Velocity Points will be charged per person, per booking when you make a change. Although, we do hope to see an extension of Virgin’s pandemic change policy soon.
30% Off Velocity Points Booster purchases
Velocity Frequent Flyer members can now receive up to 30% off Points Booster purchases of more than 1,000 Velocity Points before 13 April 2022.
Points Booster purchases will be discounted at the following rates, based on how many points you purchase in a single transaction:
- 1,000 to 10,000 Points – 10% discount
- 11,000 to 20,000 Points – 20% discount
- 21,000 Points or above – 30% discount
Velocity members can purchase up to a maximum of 250,000 Points per calendar year.
