Singapore Airlines Adds New European Destination For 2024

After more than 20 years, Singapore Airlines has announced its return to Brussels, the bustling capital of Belgium (where I’m from!). Starting from 5 April 2024, the airline will initiate non-stop flights between Singapore and Brussels, reconnecting Singapore with the capital of Europe.

Singapore Airlines has chosen its Airbus A350-900’s long-haul variant to service this route. The aircraft boasts a three-cabin class configuration with a total of 253 seats: 42 in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy Class, and 187 in Economy Class. This ensures that travellers can select the class that best meets their comfort and budgetary needs.

Pending regulatory approvals, flight SQ304 is slated to depart from Singapore to Brussels on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 11:55 pm local time. The corresponding return flight, SQ303, will leave Brussels for Singapore on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 12:10 pm local time.

The decision to reintroduce Brussels to Singapore Airlines’ roster brings their European destinations count to 13. This move underscores the airline’s dedication to bolstering its flights to Europe.

Mr Dai Hao Yu, the Acting Senior Vice President of Marketing Planning at Singapore Airlines, commented on the decision:

“Brussels is an important European economic and political centre, and the launch of this service adds another historical and charming city to Singapore Airlines’ list of destinations. It also gives our customers who are travelling from Europe an additional point to connect to Singapore, as well as the wider Asia-Pacific region via our hub at Changi Airport. Singapore Airlines will continue to review its network and find opportunities to offer more options for its customers.”

Brussels isn’t just the heart of Belgium; it also serves as the European Union’s central hub, earning it the title of the EU’s capital city. The secretariat of the Benelux and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) headquarters are both situated in the city as well. Its strategic geographical position makes it an optimal nexus for rail, road, and air traffic, rightfully earning it the nickname ‘The Crossroads of Europe’.

For those eager to book a seat on this renewed route, tickets for Singapore Airlines flights to Brussels will be available for purchase from 13 September 2023. This is also great news for those looking at points redemptions to Europe as Brussels makes for a great hub.
