Singapore Airlines Relaunches Flights To Brussels
Singapore Airlines relaunches flights to Brussels, offering Aussies convenient access to Europe’s cultural heart.Singapore Airlines has extended its route to include direct flights from Singapore to Brussels, Belgium in 2020. The first non-stop flight is scheduled for take-off on 25 October 2020. Thereafter, it is envisaged that direct flights to Belgium will depart Singapore on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays at 23:55, with flights departing Brussels operating on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 11:20 through flights SQ304 and SQ303 respectively.
The relaunched Brussels route will be operated by a Singapore Airlines Airbus A350-900. Mr Tan Kai Ping, Singapore Airline’s Senior Vice President, said that the launch is exciting and important in light of the economic function of a landmark city such as Brussels, quoted as being an essential political and economic hub throughout Europe. He further went on to say that such launch, “… also represents [Singapore Airline’s] commitment to constantly expand our network reach and provide our customers with a more seamless travel experience”.
This move is fundamental as Brussels is the home to key institutions including the European Union, Benelux secretariat, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). Brussels is furthermore regarded as the capital of the entire vicinity, being the most densely populated region in Belgium. Affectionately coined “The Crossroads of Europe”, its geographical positioning makes Brussels a paragon for all transport modes including rail, road, and air traffic.
This destination extension is ideal in connecting companies with other prime commercial hubs throughout western Europe, including Dusseldorf and Amsterdam, which will now introduce non-stop flights between Singapore and popular European cities. Despite the first direct flight being earmarked for nearly a year into the future, plane tickets are expected to be available for purchase as of 17 December 2019 onwards.
Conclusion
The relaunch of this route is excellent news and will open up more opportunities for those with KrisFlyer miles to get a business class seat redemption to and from Europe. Brussels is well connected to other key destinations around Europe by both plane and train.
