New to Uber?
Are you new to Uber and not sure how it works? Essentially the app connects drivers with passengers. It’s like a taxi but then without the fuss of having to pull out your wallet or guide your driver where to go. Uber drivers only see your destination once you’re in the car and their GPS will automatically guide them.
Once you arrive, it’s as simple as jumping out of the car. Your account is automatically charged, and no person-to-person transactions are required. Uber drivers don’t accept cash and payments are all handled via Uber in the app. Make sure to use our Uber coupon code if you’re a first time user
Types Of Uber cars
When you launch the app, you have the choice on what type of car/ride you are looking for. The most popular and cost-effective is UberX which is usually a regular sedan. The new kid on the block is Uber Pool; it’s precisely what you think it is. You will have to share the ride with other passengers going in the same general direction. The smart Uber app will calculate the best matches, and sometimes a short walk is required. If you’re weirded out by having to share a car with strangers…think about your last train or bus ride, it’s exactly the same but more convenient.
Uber ASSIST, assist cars are perfect for those with disabilities and drivers are all certified to offer this service.
Uber Taxi, this variant ties in with local taxi services but with the convenient of Uber technology.
Uber Black, these are all small charter drivers, and you can expect a large black town car with a professional driver.
UberSUV and UberLUX, if you are travelling in a larger party, UberSUV is perfect since these cars seat up to 6 passengers. UberLUX are luxury vehicles which is ideal for that special occasion or if you simply want to rock up in style!
UberSELECT, these are the top of the range cars. Expect something more special such as a Tesla or a European luxury brand.
UberXL, low-cost rides for parties up to 6 people.

He has covered Uber since 2017, including its first-ride promo codes, invite codes and airport rides, and checks every Uber promo code before it is listed here. How we test codes
We collect codes from our partners and from our own searching. When we’ve tried a code ourselves, it shows the date as “Last tested”. A code stays on this page until we mark it as not working or its end date passes. If a code doesn’t work for you, try another one or let us know.
Our editorial guidelinesHow we work with partners
Many of the codes on this page are ones Flight Hacks gets from our partners specifically for our readers, and we appreciate their support. Using our codes helps us get more and better codes for you in future, and it costs you nothing.
We earn a commission from some brands when you buy or sign up through a code or link on this page. We also list our own referral codes and links: if you sign up with one and qualify, the brand pays us a bonus or reward. That money helps keep Flight Hacks running and our content free, and using our codes comes at no extra cost to you. Thank you for your support!
