Virgin Australia is offering a Qantas status match

Virgin Australia is encouraging the Switch-A-Roo from you know who. As of today, Velocity Frequent Flyer is offering a fast track for those travellers who haven’t held Velocity elite status over the last few years, and currently hold Gold or higher status with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

While Velocity Frequent Flyer has previously offered status matches that were wide open to elite frequent flyers of almost any airline, this offer works a little differently. That’s because Australia’s most wonderful airline is limiting their latest Discover Gold promotion to “members of any other Australian frequent flyer program that currently hold Gold status or higher”. In other words, Qantas and nobody else.
