Virgin Australia is taking in-flight dining to new heights this summer with an updated Economy Class menu that offers a mix of vibrant flavours and premium drink options. Starting today, passengers in Economy can enjoy new cocktails in the sky, including Batched Salted Grapefruit Margaritas and Papa Salt Gin Palomas, with new snacks like chocolate waffles and corn chips with salsa.
There’s also more to enjoy at the pointy end, with Virgin Australia updating its Business Class dining later in the month. Passengers can start their day with spiced oats accompanied by coconut and fruit compote, or indulge in waffles topped with rhubarb mascarpone, fresh strawberries, and maple syrup. For main meals, Virgin will intropduce a Singaporean-style chicken curry served with rice and vegetables, as well as pork in a sticky lemon sauce with aged rice and vegetables.
Ali Dunn, Virgin Australia’s GM for Product and Customer Strategy, claimed the airline was committed to delivering the highest quality in-flight experience.
“We’ve curated a diverse selection of meals and snacks that highlight premium Australian produce and cater to a variety of tastes…From refreshing beverages to delicious new meal options in both Economy and Business Class, our inflight dining has something for everyone.”
Virgin Australia has also introduced digital receipts for onboard purchases which can be downloaded after a flight at virginaustralia.com/onboardreceipts.

Virgin Australia’s New Economy Buy Onboard Menu – November 2024
As part of Virgin Australia’s Economy offering, all passengers receive complimentary Madame Flavour tea, Grinders coffee and water. If you’re seated in Economy and after a little more, Virgin offers a rather comprehensive buy onboard menu.
While hot drinks used to be standard on every flight, Virgin Australia has finally updated the fine print on their onboard menu page to specify that tea and coffee will be “available on most flights over 55 minutes”. That’s great news for consistency and also means that the influx of guests earning Velocity Points after complaining about the misleading offering should now be zero.
From 13 November 2024, Virgin Australia has introduced a refreshed buy onboard menu. For the first time, passengers will be able to enjoy mile-high margaritas and Belgian chocolate waffles!
