ANA has just announced new business and first-class products which will feature on the airlines’ Tokyo Haneda to London Heathrow route. Daily operation of the redesigned aircraft will start from the end of August or beginning of September.

Until then, the aircraft will be operated on the even number dates in August and odd number dates in September. (flight numbers NH211/NH212). The modern interior is part of a roll-out of twelve completely redesigned Boeing 777-300ER.

New Business Class – QSuite Killer?

ANA has named its new business class product “The Room” which is inspired by modern multi-functional Japanese living spaces.

The Room offers a huge seat and doors that can be closed for privacy. In fact, the seat is so wide; it’s double the size of their current business class seat.

Kengo Kuma (the designer) finished the seats with three different wood finishes inspired by modern Japanese homes – Rosewood, Light Japanese Ash and Dark Japanese Ash. And damn does it look sleek!

From what we can see in the video render, this will probably be THE business class seat to beat in 2019.

New First Class

Along with the new business class product, ANA also introduced a new first-class suite called “The Suite” which looks similar to what they have on offer now. Inspired by luxury Japanese hotels, The Suite comes with a 43-inch 4K monitor (first in the world on a commercial airliner). There will be 8 seats in total (fantastic for us points nerds looking to make a redemption!)

For the ultimate grandeur, a luxury dark wood finish features throughout the cabin, which looks incredibly stylish.

“Our partnerships with Mr Kuma and Acumen illustrate that ANA has sought out the input of the most influential voices in the design community for these innovative new cabin designs,” said Hideki Kunugi, Executive Vice President of ANA.

“In 2010, we were the first in Japan to introduce the full flat seat with all aisle access and in order for ANA to continue to lead and set the global standard for comfort and convenience, we knew that it would be necessary to integrate the latest insights from design professionals as we sought to redesign the flight experience and elevate every aspect of travel for our passengers.”

Other Improvements

Apart from this ANA also introduced a new Premium Economy and economy seat as well as enhanced IFE systems and new in-flight dining options, cutlery and amenity kits for those travelling in premium cabins. Business and first-class passengers will also be able to pre-order meals (starting soon).
