It’s that time of year again where the internet goes into meltdown and deal fatigue is what your local GP will diagnose you with for the next few days.
However, I’ve compiled a small list of travel deals which might come in handy! Some of them are on for a short time only while others run right through December.
Air New Zealand
Air New Zealand is running a 24h sale and offer discounted airfares until December 2. However, to get additional discounts, you will need to book within the designated sales window on November 29.
- Use this code to get a $200 discount on flights to and from New Zealand
- Use this code for a 10% discount on flights to North America
Qatar Airways are also running a Black Friday / Weekend sale with many European destinations on sale. Melbourne to Dublin is on sale for only $999 return and other places like Amsterdam can be had for only $1009 return. Those in Sydney and Perth can get all the way to Barcelona and back for only $999 as well.
There’s also paid lounge access (well worth it!) which has a 25% discount when you pre-book it online.
To access the sale, click here.
Aunt Betty is an Australian based OTA (Online Travel Agent), and they are also offering some good discounts (+they have no booking fees!).
- Use this code to get $30 off all international flights
- Check this page for their Black Friday flight deals
Klook Travel Deals
Klook is one of the biggest travel/activities booking sites out there. You can book anything from a train ticket to hotels and everything in-between. They are also running a massive Black Friday Cyber Monday sale with some pretty good travel deals on offer.

Hotels.Com is still my favourite booking portal if I need to book a hotel that isn’t part of a loyalty program that I value (Hilton, Marriott, etc.). This is simply because their rewards program is pretty damn good and they have a price match guarantee. Stay 10 nights, get 1 free is much better than the other hotel booking sites out there.
For Black Friday they are offering between 8-10% off selected hotels when you book by December 2 for stays up until March 31. It’s unclear which ones will work for your hotels so try them all.
Hilton 50% Off Japan, Korea & Guam
Hilton is running a massive sale which ends on Saturday if you’re in Australia and Friday for those in the US. If you’re planning a trip to Japan, Korea or Guam; now’s a great time to score a deal!
Flightly App 45% Discount
Forget about TripIt, forget about App in the Air. I’ve tried them all, and I’ve got a new favourite flight tracking app. It’s only available for iPhone users right now, but it’s a very clean design and it gives much better insights compared to the competition. Until Saturday you can get it for 45% off ($4.99 a month) with a 2 weeks free trial to see if you like it.
Flightly tracks all your flights and gives you live updates of any changes, gate details, aircraft etc.
Alaska Mileage Plan 50% Bonus
Alaska Mileage Plan is my favourite for buying miles to discounted business and first class travel. They are running a 50% bonus sale until December 23 which can you access here. If you’re new to Alaska Mileage Plan, make sure to read our full guide here.
Avianca LifeMiles 150% Bonus
LifeMiles is a Star Alliance program which frequently sells miles at a steep discount. You can then use those to redeem any of the Star Alliance partner airlines. 150% bonus is the best we’ve seen in a long time, and it’s worth it for cheap business and first class travel.
Aegean Miles + Bonus 100% Bonus
I personally purchased the Aegean Miles + Bonus deal during last year’s Black Friday sale and this year it’s on again. While Aegean did quietly devalue their award chart without notice, it still presents outstanding value.
A one-way ticket in first class from Australia to Europe will set you back only 100,000 miles (which costs 1250 euro). That’s still a bargain! I’ve been crediting all my Star Alliance flights to the Miles + Bonus program and will be hitting Gold in the next few months. Although stealthy devaluations are sneaky (especially right before a sale), there’s still value to be had.
Amex IHG Hotels Cash Back
If you have an American Express, this offer is worth saving to your card! Spend $400 at participating IHG hotels in Australia and get $100 cashback. This offer stack very well with the IHG Stay 2 nights, get one free offer which you can register for here.
On top of that IHG are running a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale with up to 25% off selected hotels and 4 X IHG Reward points booster.
Expedia Black Friday Sale
