Singapore Airlines has enhanced the KrisFlyer experience for its Australian members by extending the reach of its Kris+ lifestyle rewards app to Sydney and Melbourne. For the first time, this expansion allows users in Australia to earn and redeem miles at local partners, including popular cafes, restaurants, and bars.

The app’s Australian Beta version has just been launched, featuring capabilities for earning and redeeming miles specifically in Sydney and Melbourne with more locations to come. Within the first month, around 100 partner merchants are anticipated to join the program.

Mr. Louis Arul, Regional Vice President South West Pacific at Singapore Airlines, commented on the launch: “The introduction of miles earn and redemption functionality through Kris+ in Australia greatly increases the number of opportunities for KrisFlyer members to earn and redeem miles through everyday purchases.”

He added, “We are always looking to expand opportunities for our frequent flyer members to earn and redeem their miles and we are excited to bring more partners on board in the months ahead.”

In Australia, Kris+ users can earn up to three miles for every dollar spent at participating merchants when using Apple Pay or Google Pay via the app. Additionally, the option to redeem earned miles at a rate of 150 miles for AU$1 off the bill enhances the app’s appeal.

Initially launched in Singapore in 2020, Kris+ is now usable at over 1,500 partner outlets across the country. Travellers from Australia visiting Singapore can also utilize the Kris+ app, broadening their opportunities to earn and redeem miles. The app extends privileges and discounts in 15 other countries in the Singapore Airlines network, including India, Japan, and Thailand.
