Emirates is expanding its Melbourne operations with the introduction of a third non-stop daily flight to Dubai, commencing on 30 March 2025. This development offers travellers greater convenience and flexibility while showcasing the airline’s latest cabin products.

The new service will be operated by a retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER, featuring four cabin classes, including the highly sought-after Premium Economy and updated Business Class seating.

Dubai to Melbourne Schedule

Emirates’ flight EK404 will depart Dubai at 9:15 PM, arriving in Melbourne at 5:40 PM the following day. The return service, EK405, departs Melbourne at 11:55 PM, landing in Dubai at 7:00 AM the next day.

This additional flight enhances options for Melbourne passengers, with direct access to Dubai and seamless connections to 27 European destinations such as London, Paris, and Frankfurt.

Introducing Emirates’ Retrofitted Boeing 777

Passengers on the new Melbourne service will enjoy Emirates’ upgraded Boeing 777-300ER, featuring 8 First Class suites, 40 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 256 Economy seats.

Emirates Premium Economy

Premium Economy offers comfortable leather seats with a generous 38-inch pitch and adjustable headrests, providing extra space to relax. Business Class passengers benefit from fully lie-flat beds, personal minibars, and 23-inch high-definition screens, ensuring a premium travel experience.

With the addition of this service, Emirates will offer 3,472 weekly Premium Economy seats across Melbourne and Sydney, providing more opportunities for passengers to experience enhanced comfort and upgraded amenities.

Fifth Freedom Singapore Melbourne Schedule Cancelled

To support the new non-stop service, Emirates will cease its one-stop flights between Melbourne and Dubai via Singapore from 30 March 2025. Affected passengers will be offered alternative travel options or refunds.

This adjustment ensures Melbourne passengers benefit from a more streamlined journey, bypassing stopovers and reducing overall travel time.

Emirates Restores Capacity in Australia

As part of its broader commitment to the Australian market, Emirates reinstated its second daily service to Perth on 1 December, returning capacity to pre-pandemic levels. Across its five Australian gateways: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide; Emirates now operates 77 weekly flights, offering seamless connections to key destinations worldwide.

The second Perth service further strengthens trade and travel links, offering businesses greater access to markets such as London, Dublin, and Rome.

Emirates and Qantas Partnership

Through its decade-long partnership with Qantas, Emirates ensures Australian travellers benefit from an expansive network. The collaboration offers access to more than 120 destinations worldwide, including 60 within Australia and New Zealand, simplifying travel for millions of passengers.

Enhanced Connectivity for Melbourne

The introduction of Emirates’ third non-stop service between Melbourne and Dubai highlights the airline’s commitment to offering convenient schedules, modern cabins, and excellent service.

From March 2025, Melbourne travellers can look forward to a smoother journey to Dubai and beyond, as Emirates continues to strengthen its presence in Australia.
