Today the WA state government announced a partnership with Virgin Australia to deliver more affordable airfares to 2 key destinations: Broome and Kununurra which will open up access to the stunning Kimberley region of Western Australia.
In total there will be some 8,000 discounted seats up for sale from today until October 31, 2020, unless sold out prior.
The discounted tickets are available to and from Perth to Broome and Kununurra.
- Broome: $199 one way
- Kununurra: $229 one way
- Travel dates: From August 3 – October 31
- Booking timeframe: book 21 days before departure
What’s the schedule?
The Perth to Broome route will operate on a daily schedule, and the Perth Kununurra route will run three times per week. The Perth to Kununurra (and back) schedule is Monday, Thursday and Friday.
Will the lounge be open?
Unlike Qantas, Virgin Australia lounges are still closed.
Are tickets flexible?
The Virgin Australia flexible travel rules are in place until October 31, so you can change dates or destinations ate no cost (fare difference might apply) as many times as you’d like.
Cancellation rules are as per the fare rules so keep this in mind when booking.
PS. El Questro Is Still Closed
If you’re like me and have been eyeing up a staycation at El Questro in the Kimberley. Note that they will remain closed until April 1 2021 (no joke!) and the station and campgrounds reopen May 1, 2021.
