Singapore Airlines unveiled their brand new A380 cabin today which features the much rumored update to the First Class suites. The 6 suite cabin pictures were leaked a few days ago and as expected are 100% real. The new suites have been moved onto the upper deck and each suite will feature a separate seat and bed much like Etihad’s A380 apartments.
The 6 suites are on either side of a wide centre aisle with high walls to ensure total privacy. In the suite, passengers can enjoy the comfort of a leather 21-inch wide sofa which swivels 270 degrees which will be locked into position for takeoff and landing.
A 32 inch flat screen and electric window shutters are a standard in the new suites and can be controlled from a small tablet which looks similar to that on board the Emirates A380 first class cabin.
In easy reach of the arm chair is a console with storage space for small electronics or jewelry and a wide dining table has been build in with the ability to extend out when you’re ready for dinner.
It’s interesting to note that some of the cabins have the ability to open up and form a double bed much like the current A380 suites. The suites featuring the ability to have a double bed and share living space are 1A/2A and 1F/2F.
The nose of the aircraft features 2 double bathroom but unfortunately no shower has been included. One of the bathrooms looks to be of similar size as the Qatar A380 first class one and features a vanity mirror just in case you need to touch up your makeup mid flight…
All in all this looks like it’s going to be one of the best first class in the sky and like many I’m very much looking forward to trying it out.
