Australian’s are loving Japanese holidays at the moment, and Jetstar has just dropped a 72-hour Japan edition of its popular Return For Free Sale. That’s just three days to book these hot fares, with direct flights on sale from Cairns, Brisbane or Sydney, plus connecting flights out of Melbourne, Gold Coast and Adelaide included.

Whichever destination you decide to fly into, Jetstar’s latest promotion is now live for Club Jetstar members, who get a 12 hour head start. Public access to the Japan Return For Free sale begins at 11:59pm AEST on 5th August. From then, you can search and book the offer here.

The special offer runs for just 72 hours until 11.59pm AEST on 8th August, unless sold out earlier. Eligible travel dates are from September 2024 through to late June 2025.

To score the return flight for free, you will need to purchase an eligible Economy Starter fare on the outbound. This means checked baggage is not included.

As Japan has become more and more affordable for Australians in recent years, Jetstar reports carrying 35% more passengers to the country in 2023 over pre-pandemic levels in 2019. The budget carrier expects even more passengers to board its Japanese flights throughout 2024, ramping up its operations with 25 flights per week from Australia to Tokyo and Osaka. That’s at a time when rival Virgin Australia is struggling to fill seats, cancelling its Cairns-Haneda route from next year.
