Today/Tomorrow is your last chance to double-dip on an excellent promotion from Velocity Frequent Flyer and American Express.

Velocity Frequent Flyer has a promotion whereby members can earn a bonus of 40,000 Velocity Points when they sign up for a new Velocity Earning credit card.

As it turns out, American Express Velocity Platinum is one of those eligible cards for the promotion.

Currently, new Amex members can earn a huge 120,000 bonus Velocity Points, which they can then stack with the Velocity bonus of 40k for a total of 160,000 Points!

You can check out our review of the American Express Velocity Platinum here.

Here’s the deal:

Receive 120,000 bonus Velocity Points when you apply online by 31 May 2022, are approved, and spend $3,500 on your new Card within the first 3 months. Offer available to new Card Members only.

You can apply by 31 May (the approval date can be later!) Keep in mind that if you already have an Amex card, you won’t be eligible for this deal however, there are some other cards that are also eligible under the 40k Velocity Bonus.

Step 1:

Apply for the Amex Velocity Platinum here.

Step 2:

Visit this page on Velocity Frequent Flyer and activate the 40k bonus points offer (make sure to do this right away!)

Step 3: Make sure you meet the criteria and wait for your points to arrive!

Step 4: Redeem them for business class flights to the US, Asia, Europe or Africa!

What can you do with 160,000 Points?

With a massive bonus like this, you can get pretty much anywhere (one way) in business class! Thanks to the new United partnership, you could redeem your points to the US, in which case you would only need 115k for a Sydney to LA flight in business.

Alternatively, you can use your points to fly to Europe, Asia, Africa or the US with Singapore Airlines in business class too!

Sydney to Amsterdam via Singapore one way business class: 139,000 Velocity Points + taxes
Perth to Cape Town via Singapore one way business class: 104,000 Velocity Points + taxes

Perth to Bangkok via Singapore one way business class: 53,000 Velocity Points + taxes
Melbourne to San Francisco via Singapore one way business class; 139,000 Velocity Points + taxes
Sydney to Los Angeles direct one-way business class: 95,500 Velocity Points + taxes
