Live At A Maldivian Resort For $793 Per Week

As if 2020 couldn’t get any crazier, how about taking your “work from home” arrangements to the next level? Anatara Veli-Maldives has clearly spotted a gap in the market because until the end of November you can book a one year stay for just AU$793.5 per week!

Maldives

What’s on offer? Unlimited stays for 1 year!

The deal is for a one-year unlimited stay package in an overwater bungalow. The package also includes breakfast for two and unlimited transfers to and from the airport. Of course, a significant expense of living in a Maldivian resort is food & beverage, so those who take up this offer get a 25% discount on the 7 different dining facilities on the island.

Maldives

Exclusive benefits include:

  • Luxury accommodation in an Over Water Bungalow
  • Daily breakfast for two persons
  • Shared return transfers between Anantara Veli and Malé as often as required
  • 25% savings on dining and spa

Is there a catch?

Not really; as long as you’re happy to pre-pay for one year! The terms and conditions state that there are no blackout dates so in theory you could come and go as you please or just go for a full isolation mode and stay in the resort for 1 year (I think most people would go crazy?).

Maldives

Is this good value?

If you’re crazy about the Maldives, this is certainly a deal! Regular room rates for the overwater bungalow stat at around $643 per night so you would need to stay more than 64 nights to get some sort of value for money. If you do manage to set up shop for 1 year, you could also save on income tax which is 0% as long as you earn under AU$64,000.

In terms of location, Anatara Veli is right next to the Waldorf Astoria Maldives, so it’s a relatively short speedboat ride to Male.

How can you book?

If you’re crazy enough to take up an offer like this (I think most people would get bored out of their mind after 7 days!), you can only do so by emailing the resort directly: reservations.maldives@anantara.com or check their website for more details.
