New JAL Direct Flight: Melbourne to Tokyo

Japan Airlines will commence it’s new direct flights from Melbourne to Tokyo (Narita) on September 1, 2017. After the airline’s success with its Sydney-Tokyo route, opening a new direct flight route Melbourne to Tokyo seemed like a clearer step to move forward and while the route offer daily flights, it will enable passengers to connect with JAL’s domestic destinations in Japan as well as international destinations such as Europe, the US and Asia. 

The MEL-NRT flights will be scheduled to leave Melbourne just after midnight and arrive at Narita International Airport at about 9 am. Just nice for anyone who wants to start their day early in Tokyo. In total, the journey takes 10 hours and with JAL’s top notch in flight services and facilities, one can only expect a smooth and seamless ride all the way to Tokyo.

In conjunction with the new Melbourne flight, JAL is offering special fares that are currently up for grabs until July 31, 2017. The special fares will be open for flights between September 2, 2017 to March 31, 2018.

Known for its world-class services, JAL won’t be disappointing passengers with this new flight. The airline will fly passengers in a 787 Dreamliner which features 38 business class Sky Suites, seating arrangements with a 2-2-2 layout and direct access to the aisle. And with practicality in mind its paired seats have retractable screen providing privacy. Its clever design converts the seats into a 1.88 flatbed, all of which are equipped with a 28inch video flatscreen with over 300 channels to watch.

As for in-flight meals, the flight is inclusive of JAL BEDD meals that are carefully arranged by selected chefs to ensure pleasurable dining for passengers.

The good news is, Japan Airlines joined the Oneworld Alliance in 2007. Which means frequent flyers in the JAL Mileage Bank programme can look forward to this flight and start raking up mileage points, redeem and start heading to Tokyo for Christmas. The perfect way to finish off 2017.
