The national carrier of the Philippines will launch a thrice-a-week service from Manila to Perth with its Airbus A321 neo to cover the 7 or so hour flight. This is the fourth direct service to Australia by Philippine Airlines.
Which days do Philippine Airlines fly to Perth?
The airline will be flying 3 weekly flights, which depart Manila at 12:05AM, touching down in Perth at 7:15AM. PR223 will operate Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
Flights from Perth to Manila (PR224) will take off Monday, Thursday and Saturday from T1 at 8:30AM Perth time with an estimated arrival time of 3:50PM into Manila.
Can PAL be booked with points?
Philippine Airlines isn’t part of any alliance and doesn’t have any award partners which we can utilise in Australia. However, they do have their own “Mabuhay Miles” program, which can be earned by flying Philippine Airlines or All Nippon Airways.
One would require 40,000 Mabuhaymiles for a one-way business class redemption or 22,000 miles in Economy. It would take approximately 5 return flights in discount business class to accrue the 40,000 miles required for a 1-way redemption.
What About Business Class?
The Airbus A321 Neo will feature 12 business class eats in a 2-2 configuration. While not as spacious as the A330, which operated the Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane routes, the A321 Neo does sport fully flat beds.
Summing Up
It’s great to see more airlines returning to Perth after a long hiatus and further expanding the connections into Asia while avoiding a stopover in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur.
