Of Australia’s major domestic carriers, Qantas was the most on-time airline again last month, with the Red Roo’s on-time performance now nearing long-term averages. In July, 72.8% of QantasLink and Qantas domestic flights arrived on time, with 3.2% of flights cancelled.
Most of these delays were blamed on challenging weather including strong winds, with the Qantas network experiencing delays and cancellations due to weather events on 27 of the 31 days last month. On nine separate days, airlines were also limited to just one runway at Sydney Airport.
