Qantas have just launched a sale where you can save 30% off the Qantas Points required for a Classic Flight Reward on eligible Qantas, Jetstar and Fiji Airways operated flights across multiple cabins to selected destinations. Get in quick because availability is limited and this offer ends 10:59pm AEDT 19 February 2020. To be eligible for the 30% discount you must travel before 31 December 2020.
This sale includes Classic Flight Reward flights to New Zealand, Fiji and San Francisco ( plus economy flights to Hong Kong). We examine each route in detail below.
New Zealand
Qantas operates direct flights to Auckland, Queenstown, Christchurch and Wellington from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Both Boeing 737 and Airbus A330 aircraft service New Zealand, plus a daily Boeing 787 flight from Sydney. The Airbus A330 and Boeing 787 are both widebody aircraft, and generally offer a better experience than the B737.
Jetstar operates direct flights to New Zealand from Sydney and Melbourne using Airbus A320 aircraft. They also fly from the Gold Coast, however is it difficult to find reward seats on this route.

Nadi, Fiji
Qantas and Jetstar operate direct flights to Nadi from Sydney using Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft respectively.
Fiji Airways fly direct from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane using Airbus A330 and Boeing 737 aircraft. Some of the 737’s have been leased from Malindo Air after Fiji’s 737 MAX fleet has been grounded. Fiji Airways also utilise the brand new Airbus A350 from Sydney.

San Francisco
Qantas operates direct flights to San Francisco from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane using Boeing 787 aircraft. However, only the newly launched Brisbane-San Francisco route is included in this sale. An Economy reward seat costs 29,330 points, while Premium Economy is 56,910 points.
Bonus: Hong Kong
Although the sale does not mention Hong Kong, it appears that economy reward seats to Hong Kong are also discounted. Qantas operates direct flights to Hong Kong from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane using a range of widebody aircraft. The A330 operates from Brisbane, The B787 from Melbourne and a mixture of A330, A380 and the occasional B747 from Sydney. An Economy Classic Flight Reward will set you back 17,640 points.
