Singapore Airlines Is Bringing Back The A380 And It’s Bookable With Miles
Singapore Airlines A380 returns to Sydney with luxurious Suites and Business Class – book with KrisFlyer miles. The Singapore Airlines A380 has been missing in action since March 2020; almost two years on, Singapore Airlines has just announced the return on the new two-way quarantine free route between Singapore and London.
When & Where Will The A380 Fly?
Service between Singapore and London will start on November 18th, 2021, which will bring the daily flights to London to 3! So if you’re looking to fly the A380, look out for flight SQ322 from Singapore to London, which departs at 23:45 and on the return, look for SQ317 departing London at 10:55 AM.
- SIN-LHR: SQ322 @ 23:45
- LHR-SIN: SQ317 @ 10:55
How to book with KrisFlyer miles
Currently, we can only see Advantage rates are loaded for redemption. These are substantially higher compared to the preferred Save fares. If you’re in Australia, the American Express Platinum and Explorer are the best cards for earning KrisFlyer miles. Check out our beginner guide to KrisFlyer here.
From Singapore to London, expect to pay 125,000 KrisFlyer miles for Saver awards and 220,000 for Advantage awards.
From Sydney to London via Singapore, you will pay 163,000 KrisFlyer miles (note that there’s currently only a B777 flying first class on the Sydney – Singapore route) and 275,000 miles for the more expensive Advantage award fare.
- SIN-LHR: 125,000 KF + taxes
- SYD-LHR: 163,00 KF + taxes
Which First Class Suites?
Out with the old and in with the new (well, 2017 new)! The London route will feature the latest first-class suites, which are excellent.
Having flown them a few times now, I recommend booking 1A and 2A if you’re flying as a couple, as this will give you the double bed.

Is The Private Room Open?
The Private Room is the exclusive lounge dedicated to passengers flying Singapore Airlines in first class. It’s currently closed as Singapore Airlines is pushing ahead with an extensive renovation, but I expect this to be completed next year.
Passengers can only use a temporary lounge at the moment, which does include a first-class section. Our friends at Mainly Miles have reviewed the temporary lounge here, so you know what to expect.
Should You Book Now?
If you’re sitting on a stash of miles and want to lock in your Europe 2022 summer holidays, now is the perfect time to do so! However, as time goes on, I expect we will see more Saver awards released on the first-class route, so I think those with patience will be rewarded.
