Singapore Airlines Unveils $45 Million Changi T2 Lounge Overhaul
Singapore Airlines is going all in on 3 fresh new lounges at Changi Terminal 2, with the first one set to open later this year!
Singapore Airlines is investing S$45 million into a full revamp of its lounges at Changi Airport Terminal 2. Over the next two years, the SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold lounges will be completely rebuilt with more space, improved amenities and a refreshed design inspired by the airline’s flagship lounges at Terminal 3.
Renovation works will begin from 15 April 2025, with completion targeted for mid-2027. The project will roll out in phases to minimise disruption for passengers.
What’s Changing?
Across all three lounges — SilverKris First Class, SilverKris Business Class, and KrisFlyer Gold — customers can expect more room to relax, better food and beverage offerings, and upgraded facilities that reflect the brand’s premium positioning.
First Class SilverKris Lounge
The First Class lounge will be the first to undergo construction, starting 15 April 2025. This space will move to a new location within Terminal 2 and will include:

- Higher ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows
- A new premium bar with barista coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening
- A live cooking station serving up Singaporean, Asian and Western dishes
- A self-service buffet mirroring the offerings at Terminal 3

The refreshed design aims to elevate the pre-flight experience for Singapore Airlines’ most premium customers, offering more privacy and comfort.
Business Class SilverKris Lounge
Work on the Business Class lounge is expected to start in late 2025. The new space will be around 30% larger and feature:
- A mix of seating options including wingback chairs, sofas, and productivity pods
- A quiet area with recliners for passengers to unwind before boarding
- A full-service bar and expanded buffet with both Asian and Western cuisine
This will bring the T2 Business Class lounge up to par with its Terminal 3 counterpart, which was completed in 2022.

KrisFlyer Gold Lounge
Perhaps the most overdue upgrade, the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will double in capacity and, for the first time, include its own restrooms and shower suites. Construction for this lounge is set to begin in the first half of 2026.

Other upgrades include:
- Lounge-exclusive amenities for freshening up before flights
- A range of seating options including workstations, armchairs and dining tables
Minimal Disruption, Phased Rollout
Singapore Airlines has confirmed the lounge renovations will be staged to avoid major impact on passengers. Here’s the timeline as it stands:
- First Class SilverKris Lounge: Construction starts April 2025, complete by Q4 2025
- Business Class SilverKris Lounge: Construction starts Q4 2025, complete by mid-2027
- KrisFlyer Gold Lounge: Construction starts first half of 2026, complete by mid-2027
Final Thoughts
With Terminal 3’s lounges already a benchmark for airport hospitality in the region, this long-awaited overhaul of the Terminal 2 lounges is a welcome move. The upgrades will be particularly beneficial for KrisFlyer Gold and Business Class passengers, who’ve had to settle for less-than-ideal lounge experiences in the past.
Once completed, the T2 lounges should bring a consistent premium experience across Singapore Airlines' home base at Changi — no matter which terminal you’re flying from.
