Starlux recently took delivery of its A350 featuring a stunning new business-class cabin, as well as a first-class section right at the front. While the A350 has been doing familiarisation flights on select routes around Asia, giving passengers an opportunity to sample the new business class seat, the first-class section will only be available for booking on the inaugural flight to Los Angeles, which is scheduled for April 26th, 2023.

Flights were loaded a few days ago, but pricing has only now been released. The Starlux A350-900 will feature four classes, making it the first airline to offer a first-class option from Taiwan to the US.

  • Four First Suites
  • 26 Business seats
  • 36 Premium Economy seats
  • 240 Economy seats

Starlux Taipei – Los Angeles Schedule

The Starlux A350 will operate 5 days a week, skipping Monday and Sunday on the outbound flight and Monday and Wednesday on the inbound.

On the return, JX001 will leave for Taipei at 00:50, driving a day later at 5:40.

Summing Up

I’m very interested to see what the soft product for Starlux first class will be like! At 20k return, I have high expectations in terms of food and, most importantly, the wine list! Considering the first-class cabin is not partitioned off from business and only slightly larger, they will need to pull out all the stops to justify the almost 3x price point of business. So far, pricing seems to be working, as the first-class cabin has sold out for the inaugural flight!
