The View Lounge by Brussels Airport

I can’t believe I’m writing this, but Brussels Airport has a new lounge, and it’s surprisingly not bad! The new lounge, called “The View by Brussels Airport,” opened its doors in June 2024. While I travel through Brussels fairly often, it’s usually via the Schengen side of the airport. As the name suggests, the lounge boasts excellent views over the apron.

Lounge Location

The View Lounge is located in the international part of the Brussels Airport terminal, so it won’t be accessible if you’re travelling on a non-Schengen flight out of Brussels. The lounge is situated near the B gates, occupying the space previously used by British Airways. That said, the space has dramatically increased in size. If you know where the old Diamond Lounge was, just keep walking straight, and you’ll find The View clearly signposted.

Location: Between Gate B012 and B05, access via stairs or lift.

The View Lounge Opening Hours

The View Lounge operates during the following hours:
5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

During holiday periods such as Christmas and New Year, the lounge operates on the following schedule:
24/12, 25/12, 31/12: 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Tip:

You can enter this lounge using Priority Pass or Dragon Pass. Priority Pass is a complimentary benefit for Amex Platinum Card Members.

The View Lounge Overview

The lounge is a well-sized space divided into various seating areas and a dining section. The overall design aesthetic is rather pleasant, featuring an earthy colour palette and what appears to be quality furnishings. High windows provide views of the airport in two directions. While there appears to be room for an outdoor terrace, the designers have not opted to utilise the space. I’ve been told the “Diamond Lounge,” located before The View Lounge, will soon be closed, with the entire space eventually merged. Another section is still under construction, which will further increase the lounge’s capacity.

There are plenty of bathrooms, and the lounge is kept quite tidy. Only time will tell if they can maintain this standard! For those looking to take a shower, 2 shower suites are also available.

How About The WiFi?

I can report the wifi is solid, during my stay I managed to get 120Mbps down and 96Mbps up. Access is provided by scanning a QR code which are placed around the lounge.

Food & Drinks

There’s a salad bar and buffet area with some hot food. While it looked fine, I personally never bother with lounge food unless it’s cooked to order.

There’s also a section with spirits and cava—sorry, no champagne! The beer selection is, of course, well stocked—you are still in Belgium, after all.

In other areas of the lounge, there are filtered water stations operated by waving your hand above sensors for still, sparkling, or hot water. A few automatic coffee machines are also available for a quick caffeine hit.

Bonus Features

The View Lounge also offers lockers for storing your belongings. While I don’t see much use for these, I imagine they could be helpful for people wanting to store their bags while shopping.

Power points are plentiful, with many featuring dual USB-C and USB-A ports (a European requirement, after all!).

How to Access The View by Brussels Airport

The View Lounge at Brussels Airport is accessible with a Priority Pass (free with an Amex Platinum, for example). It’s also used by some, if not most, airlines operating international flights out of Brussels, as this will soon be the only lounge in the international section of the airport. I received a voucher when flying Qatar Airways in business class.

You can also purchase access directly from Brussels Airport for EUR 37.50 via their website. DragonPass holders also have access to The View Lounge.

Conclusion

The View Lounge by Brussels Airport is a welcome addition to the international terminal, offering a comfortable and stylish space for travellers. With its modern design, ample seating options, and great views, it’s clear that effort has been put into creating a lounge that stands out.

While the food and drink options are serviceable, the overall atmosphere, cleanliness, and bonus features like lockers and plentiful power points make it worth visiting.
