Velocity Frequent Flyer 20,000 Bonus Points Promo
Velocity Frequent Flyers can earn up to 20,000 bonus points on the newly launched flights to Doha and beyond!Velocity Frequent Flyer 20,000 Bonus Points Promo
Virgin Australia has just launched its new flights to Doha and beyond with a half decent sale on both economy and business class fares. With the flight schedules kicking off in June 2025, this might be the perfect opportunity to lock in flights for the European summer!
To sweeten the deal, Velocity Frequent Flyers can earn a massive stack of bonus points when they book a Virgin Australia flight via Doha.
Frequent Flyers can earn 5,000 bonus points on a one-way economy flight, 10,000 bonus points on a return economy flight, 10,000 bonus points on a one-way business class flight, and—yes, you guessed it—a staggering 20,000 bonus points on a return business class flight.
Note that these bonuses are in addition to your regular earn rates! For flights via Doha, the points earned are based on air miles flown. For example, if you were to fly from Sydney to Paris in business class, and you happened to be a Velocity Platinum member, you could earn 43,112 Velocity Points plus an additional 20,000 Velocity Bonus Points. That’s a whopping 63,112 Velocity Points!
Tip:
Stack your points even higher with a Velocity Points earning credit card such as the Amex Velocity Platinum which earns 2.25 points per $1 on Virgin Australia flights!
If you happen to have an American Express Velocity Platinum card, you can maximise your earn even further, as the card earns you 2.25 Velocity Points per $1 spent on purchases with Virgin Australia. For example, we’re seeing business class fares from Sydney to Amsterdam for $8,940 return, which means you’d earn an additional 20,115 Velocity Points on this transaction alone. This could potentially bring your points total to 83,227 Velocity Points!
How to Get the Bonus
To earn the bonus points, you need to book your flight between 12 December 2024 and 20 January 2025 for travel between 21 June 2025 and 30 September 2025.
An Eligible Flight is a Virgin Australia-marketed international long-haul flight, operated by Qatar Airways for Virgin Australia (with a VA flight number VA1, VA2, VA15, VA16, VA21, VA22 or a QR flight number QR8400, QR8401, QR8404, QR8405, QR8406, QR8407), between an Australian port and starting, ending, or transiting through Doha, Qatar, that normally earns Velocity Points.
Eligible Flights can be booked on the Virgin Australia website, the Qatar Airways website, or via a travel agent.

Summing Up
This is a fantastic promo if you’re in the market for flights to Europe this summer. We’re seeing some excellent business class sale fares that rival most other premium airline options out there, so this could be the perfect incentive to combine a sale fare with the current bonus offer! Just make sure to compare airfares before locking anything in. From what we can see, other airlines are also offering excellent sales fares.
