Vietnam Airlines has commenced a direct service from Perth to Ho Chi Minh City, a development that signifies a strengthening of aviation and economic ties between Western Australia and Vietnam. This service, expected to enhance tourism and business links, is a part of Vietnam Airlines’ strategic network expansion in Australia.

Kate Holsgrove, the Chief Commercial and Aviation Officer at Perth Airport, noted the importance of this new connection. “The introduction of Vietnam Airlines’ non-stop service is a crucial step in enhancing our international aviation network. This connection not only opens a direct link to Vietnam, a significant trading partner for Western Australia, but also provides a gateway for further travel opportunities within Asia and beyond.”

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tung, Vietnam Airlines Australia General Manager, emphasised the airline’s commitment to offering more travel options. “With the launch of our direct flights between Perth and Ho Chi Minh City, we are not only connecting two vibrant cities but also facilitating smoother travel to other destinations across Vietnam, Europe, and North-East Asia through our extensive network.”

The service operates on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, offering a comfortable and modern flying experience across various classes. Flight schedules have been carefully planned to provide convenient options for both business and leisure travellers.

An additional benefit for travellers is the option to redeem Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points for this route. Following Virgin Atlantic’s integration into the Skyteam alliance, American Express members can now transfer their points to the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. A business class ticket on the Perth to Ho Chi Minh City route can be redeemed for 60,000 Flying Club miles or 120,000 Amex Membership Rewards.
