As a way of encouraging businesses to resume company travel, Virgin Australia’s Accelerate rewards program is offering up an easy 7,800 bonus Velocity points. All you have to do is book an eligible flight through the accelerate portal or your business travel agent by 31 December 2021, for travel until 28 February 2022.
It’s essentially a buy one get one free offer, with the bonus Velocity points enough for a free economy flight with Virgin Australia.
To be eligible for the promotion you must be the ‘key contact’ of an Accelerate business account. You’ll need to have your personal Velocity number linked to your profile in that Accelerate account between 9 November 2021 and 31 December inclusive.
Under the promotion, an eligible flight is a flight that is marketed and operated by Virgin Australia. You must be booked in a fare class that normally accrues points. Codeshare services are not eligible for this offer.
What can I do with 7,800 points?
In truth, not much. But being so easy to achieve, this is still a pretty good offer.
Those bonus points are enough for an economy class redemption on flights under 600 miles in distance. For example, you could fly from Melbourne to Sydney, Adelaide, Hobart or Canberra. As such, we think you’d be better off saving the points for use as part of a larger redemption, hopefully in business class!

How do I earn the bonus points?
