Virgin Australia has today announced the return of non-stop services between Adelaide and Bali (Denpasar) from 14 December 2022. Flights will be operated by Virgin’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with Economy Lite return fares on sale from $399 and Economy Choice return fares starting from $479.

The airline will challenge Jetstar’s daily monopoly on flights between Adelaide and Bali just in time for Christmas, with daily services open for booking during peak travel times. Adelaide marks the fifth Australian city that Virgin Australia offers non-stop services to and from Denpasar, with existing services already up and running from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. The airline will also add a new Gold Coast route in March 2023.

Virgin Australia Group Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer, Alistair Hartley said the airline was pleased to be welcoming another short-haul international route to its network just in time for the summer holidays.

“The return of our direct services between Adelaide and Denpasar is a reflection of the growing demand we continue to see for Bali since relaunching from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne earlier this year and announcing our first-ever direct Gold Coast services commencing in March 2023,” Mr Hartley said.

“Adelaide is incredibly important to Virgin Australia, it’s our sixth largest port by scheduled flights, so we know this will be welcome news for South Australians and the perfect opportunity to get back to the skies with our great value fares and award-winning crew,” he said.

Virgin’s New Adelaide-Bali Schedule

Virgin’s latest route will take to South Australian skies from 14 December 2022, offering up to an additional 2,464 seats per week to Bali. The year-round service will operate daily until 29 January 2023, when it reverts to a three-times weekly service, before returning to daily flights from 26 March 2023.

VA113 will depart Adelaide at 5:50pm to arrive in Denpasar at 8:40pm the same day (5h20m) while VA114 is scheduled to depart Denpasar at 10:50pm and arrive in Adelaide at 6:20am the next day (5h).
