Today Qantas welcomed its first customers into the refurbished Adelaide Qantas Club. The space has been designed to celebrate the beauty of the South Australian landscape, and in response to customer feedback, the Red Roo has added more charging outlets and spaces to relax.
It’s all part of Qantas’ Adelaide Lounge Precinct redevelopment first announced in August 2022, which will expand seating capacity to 570 across three lounges. In addition to renovating the Qantas Club and Chairmans Lounge, Adelaide will see a brand new Qantas Business Lounge by mid-2025, with the entire Adelaide Lounge Precinct due to open by August 2025.
As of 14th November 2024, the Adelaide Qantas Club is open for business, and it’s probably the best Qantas Club in Australia. The space is light and bright, with familiar warm wooden tones carried across from Qantas’ other lounges.
Stylish Agostino & Brown furniture is found throughout, as are plenty of charging ports. Qantas claims 80% of the seats boast USB-A and USB-C chargers, in addition to wireless charging mats fixed to terrazzo coffee tables.
As you might expect, it’s a seasonal buffet offering for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with barista coffee and bar service from midday.
The Adelaide Qantas Club opens one hour before each Qantas flight and closes as the last Qantas flight is called for boarding.
Qantas Adelaide Business Lounge Opening In 2025
As the newly refreshed Qantas Club welcomes travellers, the airline is accelerating plans for its next major milestone – the highly anticipated Adelaide Business Lounge, set to open in mid-2025.
In June, Qantas shared concept renderings for the Adelaide Business Lounge, drawing inspiration from the stunning landscapes of Kangaroo Island’s Flinders Chase National Park. The lounge will offer seating for up to 190 guests, providing a modern, spacious haven for business and leisure travellers alike.
From what we know, it’s an expansive open-plan layout with a striking red marble bar as the centrepiece, setting a bold and modern tone for the lounge. Relaxed lounges line the windows as a space to unwind, while those travelling for work find their place at high tables towards the entry.
For years, both Adelaide and Hobart held the unfortunate distinction of being the only state capitals without a dedicated Business Lounge, but that’s all about to change. Qantas’ Adelaide Lounge Precinct, which includes a grand new entry to all lounges, is set to open by August 2025.
