Emirates Launches Fifth Freedom Flight From Singapore To Melbourne
Emirates launches a fifth freedom flight from Singapore to Melbourne, increasing travel options and competition.Emirates has just announced a boost to the Melbourne and Sydney schedule, with additional flights being put on to cope with demand.
This means both cities get 3 daily flights! While the Sydney flight will fly directly, the Melbourne one will go via Singapore, which will be an excellent new option for frequent flyers!
Both additional flights will be operated by the Boeing 777-300ER, which is less superior compared to the famous Emirates A380.
- From 26 March, Melbourne will increase from two to three daily services between Emirates’ Dubai hub via Singapore, with a third direct service to also begin to Sydney from 1 May
- Emirates will be back to operating at pre-pandemic levels to Sydney and Melbourne
- The two new services will operate on a three-class Boeing-777 300ER, offering passengers Economy, Business and First Class seats
- The service increase follows the airline’s recent announcement around double daily flights to Brisbane, starting from 1 June
- By mid-year, Emirates will be operating 63 weekly services to Australia with the capacity to transport more than 55,000 passengers per week to and from its major cities
- The airline will also restart services to Christchurch, New Zealand via Sydney, offering a new path for Australians across the trans-Tasman route
For the Singapore to Melbourne fifth freedom route, EK404 will take off at 10:25AM with a scheduled arrival into Melbourne at 19:35. On the return leg, Emirates is going for a redeye flight (EK405) leaving Melbourne at 2:25AM with an arrival time into Singapore at 8:15AM.
All in all, this is excellent news as demand to and from Australia is soaring and in desperate need of more competition.
