Etihad is running an incredible sale for flights from Sweden to Asia via a connecting flight in Zurich (ZRH) and Abu Dhabi (AUH). Since Etihad don’t actually fly from Sweden, the first flight to Zurich is operated by Etihad partner SAS. On the way back, you will fly through Brussels.
While the first 1h34min flight to Zurich is just a basic Euro business class seat, the long haul flights are both operated by a B787 featuring the Etihad business studios with flatbeds.
What’s Availability Like?
Flights appear to available until mid-October 2020, giving you plenty of time to A) get there, and B) fly back.
How To Get The Best Price?
To get the best possible price, you have to visit this page and enter code “3760”. This will give you 10% off the base fare (not the taxes) and save you at least Au$100 compared to booking via a third party. It’s even cheaper compared to Monmondo or Skyscanner, and you get the benefits of booking directly with the airline instead of a random OTA.
Where Else Can I Go?
Singapore isn’t the only destination available for departure from Gothenburg (GOT) and can also be booked for the following destinations for slightly more:
- Manilla (MNL)
- Bangkok (BKK)
- Seoul (ICN)
- Hong Kong (HKG)
Show Me The Points?!
I’ve mentioned this many times before, but Etihad Guest is pretty valuable. I use my miles for business class redemptions within Australia (PER-MEL for 21,800 Etihad Guest miles in business) with Virgin Australia since that partnership offers outstanding value to those in the know.
These business class flights book into Z class and will net you around 15,000 Etihad or Velocity points on a return flight — not bad.
Etihad has a stopover program which gives guests up to 2 nights accommodation in Abu Dhabi. This is available for everyone regardless of the travel class. While the hotels are on the budget side, you can also go for 4-5 star hotels under a 2 for 1 stopover package.
