Singapore Airlines has announced today the commencement of construction on the new SilverKris Lounge at Perth International Airport. The unveiled plans for this upcoming lounge promise customers an expanded space, improved amenities, and an increased variety of dining options.

This development comes on the heels of last year’s AUD$48 million refurbishment of the flagship SilverKris Lounge in Changi Airport Terminal 3.

Set to open its doors by the end of this year, the new lounge will be strategically positioned in the International Departure terminal opposite Gate 52, ensuring easy access to all international boarding gates within the transit area. This space was formerly occupied by Qantas who’s since left T1 and moved all its departures to the much smaller and older T3. The lounge neighbours the also excellent Air New Zealand lounge which will make it very convenient for Star Alliance Gold members or Business class travellers to check out both spaces.

Mr. Louis Arul, Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President South West Pacific, has emphasised the airline’s commitment to Western Australia with this new venture. He stated, “We launched our services to Perth in 1967 and since then we’ve invested in and grown our operations to support the West Australian region,” and added, “Building a brand-new lounge in Perth will deliver an enhanced travel experience and reinforces our commitment to the Perth market.”

The new SilverKris lounge will offer significantly more space than the existing lounge, which opened its doors on 21 December 2006, and will be able to comfortably accommodate nearly 140 customers simultaneously.

The new lounge will feature an expanded buffet area with a live cooking station and full bar, providing a broader variety of fresh food and beverages to travellers throughout the day. Additional amenities like shower facilities will also be available.

Following the refreshed “Home Away from Home” concept, the new lounge will incorporate design elements from the recently revamped flagship SilverKris Lounge in Singapore, creating unique personal spaces that offer a sense of ‘being home’.

These spaces will cater to every need, providing customers with a variety of settings for work, rest and relaxation.

Access to the lounge will be extended to customers travelling in Business Class, members of the PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold, Virgin Australia Velocity Beyond, Platinum and Gold card members on Singapore Airlines operated flights, and Star Alliance Gold members travelling on Star Alliance member carrier operated flights.

This news follows last month’s announcement of an additional four flights per week between Perth and Singapore from 24 November 2023 to 14 January 2024, increasing the total to 25 flights per week and offering additional seats for the holiday travel period.
