Holiday Inn Express Melbourne Southbank Review
Upon entering the decor has that brand-new feeling along with a comforting new hotel scent. The reception is located on the 7th floor, which gives guests a great selfie-opportunity during their journey up their photo-worthy elevators.
As you enter their reception area, you will be greeted by their friendly staff, or you can sit by the lounge area which has many seats as well as a bar area where guests can enjoy a drink or two.
Located adjacent to the reception area is the dining room where complimentary breakfast is served from 7 am—10 am and is included for all guests and has all of the breakfast-buffet staples such as cereal, pastries, scrambled eggs, toast, sausages, baked beans, cheese, fresh fruit, yoghurt and muesli.
If you’re lucky enough to get upgraded as we did to the 23rd floor with a city view, you will be adorned with a spacious room filled with natural light from a large window. Rooms also feature a desk area to knuckle down and do your work and a couch to lounge about on.
The bed is super comfortable with both soft and firm pillows clearly labelled and USB power points on either side of the bed, so you don’t have to argue with your partner who gets to charge their device.
The bathroom is sleek and clean with all amenities at hand such as shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. If you forgot your toothbrush, they also have complimentary ones available on request. There’s a space to hang clothes, an ironing board, hairdryer, coffee, tea, wi-fi, practically everything was covered, which provided the ultimate comfort during our stay.
They also have a gym which we were planning on checking out but did not find the motivation to go as their bed was far too comfortable.
So what’s the verdict?
Holiday Inn Express Melbourne Southbank features a beautiful modern design and has everything a traveller on the go might need; including a great location. With wi-fi, breakfast and gym facilities included, it’s excellent value for those seeking a quick getaway or for those on a business trip. I would highly recommend Holiday Inn Express Melbourne Southbank to anyone wishing to travel in comfort and convenience.
