InterContinental Hayman Island Hotel

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is one of the largest hotel companies in the world. IHG has a diverse portfolio of 16 differentiated hotel brands with 5,795 hotels, which are well known and loved by millions of consumers around the world.

That said, there might be some brands you’ve never discovered before. In this guide, we list each IHG hotel brand available so you know what you can expect regardless of whether you’re travelling locally in Australia & New Zealand or to far-flung destinations around the world.

Overview

Australia & New Zealand

IHG has a total of 5 brands in Australasia which includes InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza, voco, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express. IHG will also be introducing a new brand in Australia called Hotel Indigo later this year!

Here’s what you can expect from each IHG brand in the Australia & New Zealand region:

Crowne Plaza

Crowne Plaza is one of the world’s largest upscale brands. Designed for the modern business traveller, Crowne Plaza has brought a new approach to hotel lobby design and functionality. With inspired thinking and design, they’ve turned traditional foyers into functional spaces designed for work and play. Communal spaces are flexible, to allow for transitional moments to unfold seamlessly from 9-to-5 and 5-to-9.

Crowne Plaza

Setting up a mobile office has never been easier or more personalised with the  introduction of the “WorkLife” guest room experience – a design-led room embedded with smart tech, flexible work stations and thoughtfully placed charging ports.

With 420 hotels across 6 countries, Crowne Plaza continues to grow with some exciting new locations and recent refurbishments including, Crowne Plaza Sydney Darling Harbour, Crowne Plaza Hobart, Crowne Plaza Adelaide, Crowne Plaza Sydney Coogee Beach and Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific.

voco

voco is IHG’s newest upscale brand. Originating from the latin word to “to invite” or “call together”, voco combines the informality and charm of a boutique hotel with the quality and reassurance of a global and respected brand.

Voco Gold Coast Deluxe King Ocean Overview

voco’s reception spaces provide an approachable upscale ambience delivering a warm welcome and simple check-in experience. From the hospitable service to the carefully curated spaces that feel instantly familiar and comfortable, guests feel at ease as soon as they walk through the door, after all it’s called “to invite” for a reason. First impressions are everything and at voco, guests receive a welcome treat influenced by the hotel and locale. Their F&B menus also champions local produce and flavours.

Most guests look forward to a break from the day-to-day, so voco has added a few little things to their rooms to encourage them to take a moment for themselves. Extra cosy beds for long lie-ins, luxury bathroom amenities that go perfectly with their super-rejuvenating aerated showers, great viewing content with smart TV’s and fast wifi.

voco has a strong sustainability ethos and look after the planet with the same care as they look after their travellers. Guests can relax know that everything from their premium bed to the locally sourced ingredients on the menu are designed to reduce their impact on the environment.

IHG has two voco hotels on the Gold Coast and the Hunter Valley and will be introducing it’s third in Melbourne later this year.
