Oman Air Business Class

If you’re thinking Oman who? Now’s a good time to put Oman Air firmly on your radar as one of the best value business class seats to Europe.

From time to time Oman Air runs sales with extremely tempting prices to European destinations.

Right now you can snap up a return trip from Jakarta to London for only $2208 when booking direct or for $2159 when search via this booking site. Both flight segments are on their new B787 which features one of the best business class products I’ve seen (yet to try it myself).

Jakarta (CGK) is an excellent place to position from if you’re looking for cheap revenue business class fares to Europe.

If you’re worried about having a terrible layover somewhere in the desert, don’t panic. Muscat’s new international airport recently opened, and it looks world class.

There seems to be plenty of availability for these flights at a similar price point, but you will have to do some searching on Google Flights; I was able to find flights right up until the end of June.

When searching, make sure you go for the flights operated by the B787 as the A330 is a far inferior business class product.

How to position to Jakarta?

Getting to Jakarta is relatively easy from Australia; Perth travellers have the best option by redeeming 65,000 Kris Flyer miles for a return flight in business class with Singapore Airlines. From the eastern states you can get a direct flight onboard Qantas’s A330 to Jakarta for 100k Qantas points return or opt for a small detour via Singapore; perhaps snagging a seat on the new Singapore Airlines A380 in first class? There’s also an option to jump on the Malaysia Airlines A350 and make a quick stop in Kuala Lumpur on your way to Jakarta. Why fly direct when you can connect, right?!

How about the points earned?

Oman Air isn’t part of any alliance (yet) but does partner with Etihad Guest so when it comes to crediting you miles I recommend using the handy website https://www.wheretocredit.com/ to figure out how many miles you will earn flying Oman Air business class.
