Qantas double status credit promotion

Qantas Frequent Flyers have reason to celebrate as the airline’s latest Double Status Credits promotion is now live. This highly anticipated offer allows loyal Qantas members to accelerate their way through the Qantas Frequent Flyer Status tiers faster than ever before. One might say this promotion is perfectly timed to incentivise salty Velocity Frequent Flyers to jump teams!

For a limited time, Qantas Frequent Flyers can choose between earning Double Status Credits or Double Qantas Points on eligible flights across the airline’s extensive network. Whether you’re planning a family holiday, a weekend getaway, or a business trip, this promotion makes it easier to unlock higher Qantas status or boost your points balance.

Qantas Double Status Credits and Points – October 2024

This offer is available to Qantas Frequent Flyers who register via the Qantas App or website by 11:59pm AEDT on 31 October 2024. To qualify, members must book Qantas-marketed and operated flights by the same deadline for travel between 1 November 2024 and 19 October 2025. With plenty of destinations available across Australia and the world, there’s no limit to the number of flights you can book under this offer.

Whether you’re eyeing a trip to New York, Sydney, or even a quick domestic hop, this promotion opens up plenty of opportunities to fast-track your way to higher status tiers. Just be sure your flights are not codeshare or partner-operated, as those are excluded from the deal.

How to Register and Maximise Your Benefits

Here’s a step-by-step guide to activating your Double Status Credits or Double Qantas Points:

  1. Register Your Choice in the Qantas App or website: Open or download the latest version of the Qantas App and select whether you’d prefer Double Status Credits or Double Qantas Points or register via this link. You must register your choice by 11:59pm AEDT on 31 October 2024.
  2. Ensure Your Email Is Valid: Make sure the email address in your Qantas Frequent Flyer profile is up to date to receive confirmation of your registration.
  3. Book Eligible Qantas Flights: Book your Qantas-marketed and operated flights before 31 October 2024 for travel between 1 November 2024 and 19 October 2025. Codeshare and partner flights are excluded, except for certain Finnair-operated flights, which are eligible under the promotion (QF291, QF292, QF295, QF296).
  4. Include Your Frequent Flyer Number: Don’t forget to include your Qantas Frequent Flyer number when booking. If you’re a business, include your ABN to earn rewards on business travel as well.
  5. Check Your Choice in the App: If you’ve made multiple bookings, you can view or change your selected reward (Double Points or Double Status Credits) in the Qantas App until the registration deadline.

Unlocking Qantas Status Tiers Faster

Thanks to the Double Status Credits offer, climbing the Qantas Frequent Flyer ranks has never been easier. For example, earning Silver Status could take as few as 15 Economy flights between Sydney and Melbourne, while Qantas Gold can be unlocked with a return Business Class trip to Los Angeles.

Maximising Qantas Points for Future Rewards

For those choosing Double Qantas Points instead of Status Credits, the benefits are equally enticing. Double Qantas Points can be redeemed for a future trip, upgrades to premium seats, or even purchases from the Qantas Marketplace (although we don’t encourage this!).

What does it take To Earn Qantas Status?

  • To attain Qantas Silver status for the first time, you need to accumulate 300 status credits, and 250 status credits to maintain it if you already have it. On paper, Silver may not seem like a highly beneficial tier, as its main advantages are limited to two invitations to Qantas Club lounge and access to ‘premium’ check-in counters. Nevertheless, it serves as a starting point, and once attained, it becomes easier to retain.
  • To achieve Qantas Gold status, you must accrue 700 status credits, and 600 status credits to retain it. Gold is often deemed the ‘sweet spot’ as it grants lounge access across Qantas and Oneworld airlines, including Emirates. Moreover, it offers premium security lane usage and priority boarding.
  • To obtain Qantas Platinum status, you must earn 1,400 status credits, and 1,200 status credits to maintain it. This level provides entry to Qantas’ domestic business class lounges and the international first-class lounges of Qantas and Oneworld airlines, in addition to Emirates.
  • Qantas Platinum One is the highest tier of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. To earn or maintain Platinum One status, you must acquire 3,600 status credits, of which 2,700 must be earned on ‘Qantas marketed flights’. Platinum One members can grant their partner free Platinum status, receive two invitations to the Qantas first-class lounge for friends or family, gain free ‘fly ahead’ access to earlier domestic flights, and convert any available seat into a points-based ‘award seat.’ Additionally, they typically receive the best attention from Qantas in situations of flight delay or cancellation.
