Qantas Launches Seasonal Flight From Adelaide To Auckland
Qantas is launching a direct flight from Adelaide to Auckland with a seasonal schedule starting in October 2025.
Qantas is putting Adelaide back on the international map with the launch of new non-stop flights to Auckland, set to begin on 31 October 2025. It marks the airline’s return to international flying from South Australia and brings with it a wave of upgrades for the Adelaide Airport experience, including the debut of Qantas’ first-ever Domestic Business Lounge in the state.
Non-Stop to Auckland
The new seasonal route between Adelaide and Auckland will operate four times a week (Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. With a flight time of just over four hours, the service offers more than 30,000 additional seats between the two capitals during the seasonal window from 31 October 2025 to 3 May 2026.
While the route is a win for trans-Tasman travel, it also offers a compelling new gateway to North America. Travellers from Adelaide will be able to connect seamlessly in Auckland onto QF3, Qantas’ flagship service to New York via New Zealand just like the recently announced Perth to Auckland service. Unlike Perth, Adelaide passengers will have to make do with one of the airlines aging B737 aircraft.
Return economy fares are now on sale via Qantas.com from $699 AUD, for select travel periods.
“Today we’re celebrating two huge milestones in Adelaide – launching a new direct international flight and our first Qantas Business Lounge at Adelaide Airport. This is fantastic news for our South Australian customers who will have access to a direct international flight to Auckland as well as opening up connections to New York via Auckland.”
Qantas Group CEO International Cam Wallace
Domestic Business Lounge Opens Its Doors Tomorrow
Timed with the announcement, Qantas has also unveiled its Adelaide Domestic Business Lounge, a major investment into South Australia’s aviation infrastructure. The lounge spans over 1,000 square metres with space for 190 guests, and reflects the best of South Australia through food, design and functionality.

Highlights include:
- A Market Kitchen, inspired by the Adelaide Central Market, with dishes by Neil Perry and snacks by Maggie Beer.
- Locally sourced furnishings and natural materials, including a custom glass installation from the JamFactory.
- 80% of seats offering USB-A/C ports and wireless charging.
- Design inspiration drawn from Adelaide Botanic Gardens, Kangaroo Island’s Flinders Chase National Park, and more.

This marks the final piece in the upgraded Adelaide Lounge precinct, part of Qantas' broader investment which already saw the new Qantas Club Adelaide open its doors in November 2024.
