Qantas is set to open its brand-new Auckland International lounge on 17 December, ahead of the ‘early 2026’ planned opening. The new lounge has been designed by the same team that created the superb Singapore First Class Lounge, among other Qantas design projects, David Caon and Akin Atelier.

The new Auckland lounge is finished to an outstanding level and exudes the luxurious, relaxed comfort we've seen across Qantas' recent lounge upgrades. The completely redesigned and expanded space is 60% larger than the previous lounge, with capacity for more than 370 guests across dedicated zones for dining, relaxing and working.

The natural beauty of New Zealand is on full display, bringing the outside in with living green walls, stunning stone tiles, and terrazzo tabletops that help foster that relaxed atmosphere travellers enjoy in an airport lounge. Much of the furniture has been designed specifically for Qantas' Auckland lounge, including seating upholstered in premium New Zealand wool and leather.

The lounge design brings the outside in, with living green walls throughout, travertine tiles and terrazzo tabletops creating a natural, relaxed atmosphere. Bespoke furniture features seating upholstered in premium New Zealand wool and leather and there’s also a stunning four-metre artwork by artist Gabrielle Penfold.

For the first time, Platinum One and Platinum Frequent Flyers will gain access to an exclusive à la carte dining area offering a Neil Perry seasonal menu. Dishes such as crumbed local fish and chips, pavlova, and Qantas First favourites like salt and pepper squid are all in rotation.

For other travellers, New Zealand's local wine and produce will feature in a dining area offering a buffet and gelato station. There’s also a cocktail bar serving up premium beverages and barista-made coffee.

Qantas International CEO Cam Wallace said the new lounge represents a major investment for customers flying through Auckland.

"Our customers tell us the lounge experience is an important part of their journey, which is why we're investing in our award-winning lounge network around the globe.”

"The new Auckland lounge celebrates the best of New Zealand and has been thoughtfully designed for how our customers want to use the space, whether that's working, relaxing over a meal, or freshening up during transit,” he added.

The opening of the Auckland International Lounge comes as Qantas continues to expand its trans-Tasman operations following the start of new seasonal services between Adelaide and Auckland alongside the launch of Auckland to Perth flights taking off on 7 December.

Beyond Sydney and Auckland, Qantas is continuing its global lounge investment program with further upgrades underway at the Los Angeles International Lounge and across the domestic regional lounge network.

Who Can Access The Qantas International Lounge?

Access to Qantas’ new Auckland lounge is granted based on class of travel, Frequent Flyer status, or Qantas Club membership.
