15% Bonus: Amex & ANZ To Qantas Points Transfer Hack
Sneaky Qantas Points transfers from Amex, ANZ, CommBank and more
There are very few rewards credit cards in Australia that offer the ability to transfer points to Qantas Frequent Flyer. American Express reserves this benefit for its Platinum and Platinum Business cards, while CommBank Yello charges a $149 fee for the privilege. Other banks simply don't offer direct Qantas Points transfers full stop.
But there's a popular hack that allows you to transfer flexible credit card points into Qantas Points. It involves using Everyday Rewards, Woolworths' loyalty program, whose points convert straight to Qantas Points.
While many travellers understand the American Express transfer hack to send Membership Rewards to Qantas Points, this method also applies to ANZ, CommBank, Westpac, St.George, Bank of Melbourne and BankSA rewards credit cards.
Since Everyday Rewards can be converted into Qantas Points, those who hold cards like the Amex Explorer can send points to Qantas Frequent Flyer via Everyday Rewards. Plus, the current 15% Everyday Rewards transfer bonus boosts the value of this strategy for Amex Membership Rewards and ANZ Rewards cardholders.
15% Bonus Everyday Rewards On Amex & ANZ Transfers - October 2026
Between 15 October and 12 November 2026, Everyday Rewards is offering a 15% bonus on points transfers for eligible American Express and ANZ cardholders.
There is no need to activate this offer, and you can receive the bonus on as many transfers as you like. A minimum transfer of 500 Amex Membership Rewards Points, or 2,700 ANZ Reward Points applies.
With a 15% bonus, the effective transfer rate to Qantas Points drops to 2.17:1 from Amex, and 2.35:1 from ANZ. Compared to the 2:1 transfers offered on the Amex Platinum Card, which is one of the only cards offering direct Qantas Points transfers, that’s a solid rate!
Everyday Rewards suggests that it can take up to 7 business days after the offer period for bonus points to be credited. The offer page for these deals can be found here for Amex and here for ANZ.

How To Transfer Credit Card Points To Qantas Via Everyday Rewards
For those paying attention, banks who partner with Everyday Rewards have opened up a backdoor transfer to Qantas Points. That’s because you can complete a two-step transfer:
Credit Card Points → Everyday Rewards → Qantas Points
Using American Express as an example, here’s how the transfer rates would play out in usual circumstances, where zero bonus applies:
- Amex → Everyday Rewards: 5 MR = 4 ER
- Everyday Rewards → Qantas: 2ER = 1QF
- Effective Amex → Qantas: 2.5MR = 1QF
Here's what each program gets you. The lower the effective rate, the fewer card points you need per Qantas Point.

Is This A Good Use Of Flexible Points?
Let’s be honest. Qantas Frequent Flyer can be considered one of the least rewarding programs in the region, particularly with its 2025 devaluation and customer complaints on the ease of booking and availability of reward seats. From August 2025, the number of Qantas Points needed for reward seats and upgrades jumped by up to 20%. Even the ACCC has warned consumers to carefully weigh the value of their loyalty points in Australia.
Depending on your travel goals and the credit card you hold, other transfer partners like Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer or Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, might offer stronger redemption rates.
For example, premium cabin redemptions through Asia Miles often require fewer points than the same flight booked using Qantas Points. With Cathay being a Oneworld airline, many of Qantas’ partners can also be booked using Asia miles.
A Business Class seat from Sydney to Los Angeles on Qantas metal costs 89,000 Asia Miles or 130,100 Qantas Points, for the exact same flight. Therefore, you’d need 267,000 Membership Rewards to book with Cathay, or a whopping 325,250 Membership Rewards with Qantas. In this example, booking with Qantas costs 22% more.

Similarly, flying Cathay from Melbourne to Hong Kong requires 58,000 Asia Miles or 90,000 Qantas Points. For this redemption, you’d need 174,000 Membership Rewards to book with Cathay or 225,000 Membership Rewards with Qantas.
With all that in mind, it’s worth noting that this Amex to Qantas via Everyday Rewards hack still has its place. For Australians with lower Membership Rewards balances, transferring to Qantas could prove useful. While that small balance might not be enough to redeem a flight with another program like Cathay, it could be enough to top up your Qantas account for a larger redemption.
