Qatar Airways recently extended the status for those that successfully matched to Privilege Club a few years ago.
The new extension is only until the end of March, but now Qatar Airways is offering double status credits and a reduced tier requirement for those that book Qatar Airways flights in the next few months.
In this post:
Who’s Eligible For Double Status Credits?
As it turns out, ALL Privilege Club members are eligible for the double status credit promotion. These are only awarded on Qatar Airways-operated flights and only for a limited time.
When does the promotion finish?
To qualify for double status credits, you must book your flights between January 8 and March 31 2023.
The travel period is from January 8 until June 30 2023. This means you have until then to take your flight and earn double credits.
Existing tickets will not earn double status credits, so keep this in mind!
In addition, your flights will need to be marked and operated by Qatar Airways, so codeshare flights will not qualify for the double credits.

Qatar Airways Privilege Club Reduced Tier Requirement
Eligible members (i.e. those that did the status match) will be able to retain their Privilege Club tier with a reduced number of Qpoints required.
- Platinum will need 400 instead of 540
- Gold will need 200 instead of 270
- Silver will need 100 instead of 135
This promo is for those whose tier expires between January 1 2023, and March 31 2023.
The status credits you earn in this period will be added to whatever you earned last year.
Is this a good deal?
Yes! Double status credits can be a very lucrative opportunity to gain status for half the amount of flying.
That said, Qatar Airways offered those with a status match a reduced requalification of 300 tier points to retain Platinum last year.
I’ve previously written an in-depth guide on Qatar Airways Privilege Club and all its perks + how you can get a free upgrade to business class with both Gold and Platinum status, so check out that guide here.
Personally, I requalified for Platinum again under the reduced tier, just scraping by with 305 status credits last year.
How many status credits will I earn?
It depends! The most accurate way to know how many credits a flight will earn you is to use the dedicated Qatar Airways status credit calculator, which you can find here. To give you an example, a flight from Sydney to Doha would earn you the following amount:
I dont see this offer on their page. They dont promote it themselves? how do i know this works?
