Thanks to a very generous Qatar Airways status match last year, many of you (myself included) got an instant upgrade to Qatar Airways Platinum (One World Emerald). Of course, most Australians have not been able to use their status except for maybe a Qantas domestic flight here and there.

It turns out, Qatar Airways privilege Club is the gift that keeps on giving because our status has now been extended until December 31 2021 (an extra six months).

  • If your status expires in June, you will automatically get an extension until 31 December 2021 (for Silver, Gold and Platinum)

This announcement follows news that Qatar Airways will offer all passengers unlimited date changes and free refunds for tickets issued before April 30, 2021, for travel completed by December 31 2021. Privilege Club members can therefore benefit from flexible booking policies that will allow them to change their plans with ease if they need to while retaining their current, hard-earned tier status and enjoying the unique benefits associated with it.

If you want to learn more about the Qatar Airways flexible booking policy, you can check our article on that here.
