Qatar Airways Extends Privilege Club Status Again Throughout 2022
Qatar Airways extends Privilege Club status, offering members extra benefits and seamless travel throughout 2022.Throughout the pandemic, Qatar Airways has been the gift that keeps on giving. First, we started with this insane offer, which allowed people to book return business class flights from Asia to Europe for around $750 (ps. Yes, I’ve still got my flights, 10+ free changes in…).
That promo was followed by yet another generous one: a status match for 12 months! I used this opportunity to match my Velocity Platinum status to Qatar Airways Privilege Club Platinum (One World Emerald) which comes with many valuable perks, which I’ve outlined here.
Of course, most of us never got to use our fancy new status, so Qatar Airways extended it by an extra 6 months until December 31, 2021.
That was until yesterday when emails started going out to members with some great news!
“We are pleased to extend your Platinum tier until 31 December 2022. You now have one more reason to plan your next trip with us to one of our over 140 destinations worldwide.”
Nice work! It looks like we finally might get to use our Qatar Airways One World Status perks in 2022.
Additionally, Qatar Airways reduced the number of Qmiles that are required to book award flights by up to 49% and extended the validity of Qmiles by 36 months each time a member redeems their miles.
Of course, Qatar is gearing up for the FIFA World Cup in November next year, so all this is part of the huge marketing machine to put the country into the best possible spotlight after the Doha airport scandal in 2020.
