SAS SkyTeam Promo: Fly 15 Airlines to Earn 1 Million Miles

SAS, which recently joined SkyTeam, launched an exciting promotion a few days ago. Initially, I thought it was yet another “chance to win” type deal, but it turns out this campaign is designed by and for aviation and points enthusiasts. The challenge is simple: fly with 15 SkyTeam member airlines before the end of 2024 and earn 1,000,000 SAS EuroBonus miles.

Compared to the lacklustre offers designed by other airlines, this one is an excellent gamification of the program and, most importantly, the SkyTeam alliance as a whole.

On top of that, the terms and conditions—or lack thereof—are simple. This promo seems bulletproof from the outset, untouched by the “legal team’s touch,” if you know what I mean.

In this post:

Here’s how it works:

  • Travel with 5 different SkyTeam airlines – Get 10,000 bonus points
  • Travel with 10 different SkyTeam airlines – Get 100,000 bonus points
  • Travel with 15 different SkyTeam airlines – Get ONE MILLION bonus points
  • Registration in the SAS mobile app is a requirement to participate.
  • Travel period: October 8 – December 31, 2024. Bookings for the travel period made before the start of the challenge also count.
  • Important: You must fly using your EuroBonus membership number, not another frequent flyer program.

Terms and Conditions

To avoid missing out on the million, keep these rules in mind:

  • For the flight to count, EuroBonus points must be earned on or used to pay for the flight. SkyTeam airlines that are available are listed on the SAS website.
  • You will be rewarded with bonus points (not level points).
  • In case of retroactive registration of a flight, it must be submitted by December 20, 2024.
  • Both regular and award trips (paid with points) count.
  • It is the operating carrier that counts.
  • If you book a flight where one segment is with SAS and another with Delta, it counts as two partners for the challenge.
  • You will be notified of the outcome in January 2025.
  • You can participate only once, and you will be notified once points have been credited after the campaign.
  • SAS employees are not eligible to participate.
  • EuroBonus reserves the right to deny point rewards in case of misuse.
  • If you cannot add your EuroBonus number to the booking, please ask the check-in staff for assistance.

Am I Thinking About Doing This?

Yes!! I love promotions like this. The challenge of finding good-value flights and interesting routes in a gamified way is something I really enjoy. That said, it’s a lot of flying! While Aeroméxico and Aerolíneas Argentinas are a bit off the beaten track for me, the challenge is impossible to complete without also heading to the US.

My plan would be to tick off as many Asian airlines as possible and utilise fifth freedom routes like those operated by Kenya Airways before moving on to Europe to complete the list there. However, it would still require a Delta and Virgin flight to the US and back. So let’s just say i’m thinking about it!

1,000,000 SAS EuroBonus miles is a pretty sweet prize. The value of these miles is just over 10 business class flights from Asia to Europe or about 7 flights from Australia to Europe in business class. Pretty incredible, right?
