The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok delivers a polished luxury experience with sweeping views of Lumpini Park, refined rooms, and standout service. Club Lounge access adds convenience, though not essential given Bangkok's dining scene. Strong elite recognition, thoughtful design, and modern amenities make it a top contender among the city's high-end hotels.

The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok is the latest luxury address to join the plethora of outstanding hotels in the city. The hotel opened its doors in late 2024 inside a 50-storey tower at the new One Bangkok precinct, a stone's throw from Lumphini Park and right next door to the Andaz One Bangkok, which is still under construction at the time of writing.

The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok is the second Ritz-Carlton in Thailand after The Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui.

How I Booked The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok

As you may know, at Flight Hacks we also offer a VIP hotel booking service and have access to luxury programs such as Marriott STARS. This program has a few key benefits that aren’t publicly available, such as:

  • Personalised and customised amenity
  • Complimentary breakfast daily for two guests per room
  • Hotel credit valued at $100 USD (once per stay)
  • Early check-in and late check-out (when available)
  • Complimentary upgrade (if available at check-in)

Flight Hacks paid for this stay, booked as a STARS rate 'stay 4, pay for 3' promotion. Nightly rates at this hotel go from $500 to $900 per night depending on dates.

Pro Tip: Book via Marriott STARS for VIP benefits

The STARS program is from Marriott and only available through select agents. The benefit being that you get a whole bunch of extra perks, and you can stack these with your Marriott Bonvoy as well for even more benefits. Often booking a STARS rate is identical to booking direct with the hotel, and we don’t charge any fees for bookings either! There’s an enquiry form at the bottom of this review if you want a free price check for your upcoming stay.

Location: One Bangkok Precinct

The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok is located in the new One Bangkok precinct, a massive mixed-use development that’s transforming this part of the city. The project brings together high-end residences, commercial towers, luxury retail, and cultural spaces, all designed to create a connected, walkable neighbourhood in central Bangkok.

The Ritz Carlton Bangkok architecture

The hotel occupies the first 25 floors of a 50-storey tower designed by Chicago-based architecture firm SOM, working alongside local Thai designers. It’s situated right next to the future Andaz One Bangkok and faces Lumpini Park, offering uninterrupted views of one of Bangkok’s most iconic green spaces.

The Ritz Carlton Bangkok Lobby area

Lumpini MRT station is just a short walk away, which makes getting around much easier, especially when traffic is heavy. If you’re heading to places like Central Embassy, which is only 2.4 km away, you’ll still want to allow 15 to 20 minutes by car due to congestion at peak times.

The position next to Lumpini Park means there’s a natural buffer from other developments, so views are unlikely to be built out. The hotel is also close to other top-tier properties, putting it in good company while still offering a fresh and modern setting.

Check-In & Arrival

My arrival into Bangkok was an early one around 10 AM. One of my favourite strategies to deploy in such situations is to book the hotel car. While my STARS booking and being a Bonvoy Titanium Elite also help with securing an early check-in, if you want to be 99% sure of being whisked away to your room on arrival, the hotel transportation is a sure bet when it comes to luxury hotels. That’s because the hotel knows exactly when you’re arriving, they know you’ve just spent $200 on their transportation, and it would be extremely unprofessional if they left you waiting in the lobby if a room was already available anyway.

When we pulled up at the hotel entrance, one of the managers was there to greet us and, of course, the room was ready!

The Room: Amaranth Club Suite

I had originally booked the base room with club lounge access, which was available under a “stay 4, pay 3” package deal—something that’s often available when you book a Marriott STARS rate. Stacking this with the upgrade perk of STARS and being a Titanium Elite, the hotel upgraded me to their highest category suite (the presidential suite is still under construction), which is the stunning Amaranth Suite.

The Ritz Carlton hotel Bangkok review

Bathed in subtle hues of ivory and silver-grey, the spacious Amaranth Suite at The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok offers refined elegance and modern comforts against a dazzling backdrop of the Bangkok city skyline. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame stunning panoramas over lush Lumpini Park, turning the standalone soaking bathtub into an inviting sanctuary elevated high above the bustling metropolis. The bathroom, which features both a bathtub and separate shower, is stocked with Diptyque amenities, and Dyson hairdryers are on offer as well.

The Ritz Carlton Bangkok bedrooms

The luxurious bedding is dressed in Frette linens and a selection of comfortable pillows are on offer to suit all sleeping styles. The suite’s living area is meticulously appointed with plush seating and premium furnishings, splitting the suite into distinct areas—starting with the living room, huge walk-in wardrobe, bathroom, bedroom and a balcony overlooking the park.

The indulgent amenities extend to the pantry, thoughtfully stocked with Nespresso coffee and a curated selection of fine teas. Not that you need these, because as a Club guest, you can order freshly brewed coffee or tea at any time to your room.

An honour bar provides a range of carefully selected gourmet snacks, premium spirits, and wines.

The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok Club Lounge

The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok Club Lounge is located on the 23rd floor with sweeping views over Lumpini Park and Bangkok. Marriott Elites don’t get access to the Club Lounge, so the only way to get in is to either book a Club Room or pay for access separately. In a city like Bangkok where there are so many amazing dining/drinking options, one could argue that Club Lounge access is wasted—but since I’m reviewing the property, I figured, why not?

The Ritz Carlton Bangkok Club Lounge review

Each day there are no fewer than five complimentary dining presentations offered at the lounge: breakfast, light lunch, afternoon tea, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails.

In between, you can always access the Club Lounge for coffee & tea or soft drinks, as well as a dedicated concierge service.

Club benefits also extend to your room, where guests get complimentary daily clothing pressing and shoe shine service. Additionally, you can also order freshly brewed coffee or tea straight to your room, which is a nice touch.

The Ritz Carlton Bangkok Club coffee service

Personally, I thought the design of the Club Lounge was spot on. It feels like a quiet sanctuary above the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. There’s ample seating that still feels private, and the food and beverage options were very high quality. Proper champagne was served in the evening, and if you want a cocktail that’s not on the menu, the team are happy to make whatever you want.

The Ritz Carlton Bangkok Club Lounge breakfast

Breakfast at the Club Lounge was a bit of a miss for me personally, because having access to Lily’s downstairs offers far more food options—so we only tried the club breakfast on one day.

The Ritz Carlton Bangkok Club Lounge review

While the service, food and drinks at the Club Lounge were impeccable, I personally wouldn’t pay extra for it again as I’m usually out and about with so many different options to try around Bangkok. I felt that the Club access was wasted on me, as we only had time to visit a couple of times during the entire stay.

Dining Options at The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok

There’s plenty to choose from when it comes to dining. Lily’s, the all-day restaurant, also doubles as the breakfast venue with an incredible buffet setup. There’s literally something for everyone and the food is well presented and of high quality.

There’s also a small à la carte menu from which you can order anything you like—smaller dishes such as eggs Benedict or waffles. I didn’t try Lily’s other than for breakfast, but during the day it offers an extensive menu with a variety of more casual food options.

Duet by David Toutain

Located on the 7th floor, just past the lobby, is the fine dining concept called Duet by David Toutain. Since we had the US$100 food and beverage credit, we decided to try the restaurant one night. The concept is a set menu and there are options to pair with non-alcoholic drinks, wine, etc.

The Ritz Carlton Bangkok dining options

The whole restaurant is set up in what looks like a greenhouse and promises fine French cuisine by the Michelin-starred chef.
Each dish is presented with a storytelling card that shares information about the main ingredient of each course, taking out the guesswork! The food was outstanding and creatively presented. No doubt these guys will be looking to lock in a Michelin Star for this concept as well.

Caleō Cocktail Bar

The stylish lobby bar called Caleō focuses on modern mixology inspired by six of the world’s most iconic social clubs. Along with the themed cocktails, there are of course the classics, and the bar makes the perfect spot for a nightcap or a drink before heading out.

The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok Pool

Located on the same level as the hotel lobby is the pool and spa area. During my visit, the spa was still under construction.

The Ritz Carlton Bangkok outdoor pool

The infinity pool is stunning and overlooks Lumpini Park, as well as a perfectly framed backdrop of the Bangkok skyline. There’s ample seating with loungers on one side and cabanas on the other.

The Ritz Carlton Bangkok outdoor pool

While the greenery is lovely and looks fantastic, it did attract a lot of mosquitoes,

but this can easily be rectified with more fogging. Apart from that, the pool area is a great spot to soak up some sun or enjoy a refreshing dip after exploring the city.

The Ritz Carlton Bangkok outdoor pool

I also appreciated that the pool was tended to and drinks/snacks can be ordered from the attentive team looking after poolside guests. Free water bottles and snacks were also handed out, which is a nice touch.

Gym, Spa & Ritz Kids Club

During my visit, the spa wasn’t open yet, so I’ll update the review next time I visit The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok. The gym area is conveniently located one level down from the lobby and pool and right next door to the Ritz Kids Club, where they offer free activities for young guests.

The Ritz Carlton Bangkok gym

The gym is stocked with Technogym equipment and there’s plenty of space to work out. There are also complimentary classes such as Muay Thai boxing, which can be hosted outside on the deck underneath the pool.

Summing Up

This is by far my new favourite Marriott property in Bangkok. This city has so many amazing luxury hotels on offer, making competition fierce! The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok has positioned itself on the top end, but priced below the top dogs such as Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, Capella Bangkok and Four Seasons Chao Phraya. I would say it’s more in the league of Rosewood Bangkok and Park Hyatt Bangkok, all of which are amazing as well.

With a strong F&B offering, exceptionally comfortable rooms and great Elite Status recognition, this hotel is a strong contender if you’re after a luxury stay in Bangkok. Would recommend!

Keep an eye out for Marriott Bonvoy redemptions, this hotel can sometimes be booked for 40,000 Bonvoy points per night!
