Score Double Or Triple Velocity Status Credits On Flights - July 2025
Velocity just dropped a targeted double or triple Status Credit offer!
For frequent flyers chasing status with Virgin Australia, very few promotions generate as much anticipation as Velocity’s Status Credit offers. These promotions allow members to fast-track their way to elite status, often for flights they were planning to take anyway.
Here's the latest offer...
Double Or Triple Status Credits - July 2025 (Targeted)
Velocity is running a targeted Status Credit offer in July 2025, allowing members to earn either double or triple Status Credits. The offer applies to domestic, trans-tasman or international flights marketed and operated by Virgin Australia, which usually earn Velocity Points and Status Credits. Because of this, Qatar wet lease flights are excluded.
Remember that this is a targeted offer, and not everyone is eligible. Be sure to check your email to see if Velocity has included you in their latest Status Credits promotion.
For those that receive a targeted double or triple Status Credit offer, you must via the link within your email and book eligible flights by 11.59pm AEST 30 September 2025.

Why So Many Double Status Credit Promotions?
Velocity’s previous double Status Credit offer was launched just last month, and yet, they're back with another offer! Since moving to a spend-based status model in April, maintaining elite status has become significantly harder. Members now earn 1 Status Credit per $12 spent on most fares (1 per $24 on Lite fares), effectively putting a $6,000 price tag on unlocking Gold status.
But Velocity Gold isn’t what it used to be. Several key benefits have been watered down or removed entirely. Perks with partner airlines are increasingly limited, Fly Ahead no longer applies on the cheapest Economy fares, and seat selection still costs extra on Lite tickets. The guaranteed Economy reward seat benefit has also been scrapped.
While lounge access remains a valuable perk of Gold status, you could unlock it for less with the Amex Velocity Platinum Card. As well as other perks, this card comes with unlimited Virgin Australia lounge access.

How Many Status Credits Do I Need?
Reaching elite frequent flyer status brings about perks including airport lounge access, priority boarding, bonus points and extra baggage allowance. Here’s how many Status Credits you need for each Velocity membership tier;
- Silver: 250 to earn / 200 to renew
- Gold: 500 to earn / 400 to renew / lifetime 12,000
- Platinum: 1000 to earn / 800 to renew
- Platinum Plus: 2000 to earn and renew
